Kalish Station

The appropriately named, Kalish station is the Center of control for the grand councel of the 9 100. Orbiting the Kalish moon of Ooompach, it is located in the heart of the 9 worlds galaxy.

Demographics

The vast majority of those who live on Kalish station are Tabiar. These Aeliod servants are mentally modified through a selective rearing process of targetted media, a forcibly stratified social caste system, and regiments of hallucinatory drugs. In this way the Tabiar population is kept completely loyal, and incapable of causing harm to the delegates or Enshan. The smaller Enshan population is the real control center of Kalish station, and the assests it controls. While they must publicly defer to delegate decision, private sway is usually strong. Additionally, the delegate general distaste for the stations privacy policies usually keep them off station except during important votes. This means that most of the time Enshan have free reign.

Defences

Defence is taken to an extreme on Kalish station, often called "The Zone" by outsiders for the tough measures taken to completely rule out any possibility of attack. The Fire Children control security measures with a vast array of monitoring equipment, as they are compelled to obey station law themselves, even private conversations/actions are monitored. Because of this, much of the more serious plotting and scheming is done off-station by delegates. Defensive shields encompass the entire station in eight thick layers of overkill, and over 200 ships are stationed there at any given time with about a quarter being dedicated to military action. Moreover the En- Tulpi practice frequent drills, much to the annoyance of residence. Every action is checked and rechecked via multiple AI systems, and then checked again my Tabiar servants who are punished harshly when even small details are missed.

Districts

Kalish station is seperated into eleven sections. Nine of these are dedicated to delegates from specific worlds. One is for the grand council, informational releases, photo opportunities, and smaller sessions. The last houses the Tabiar and Enshan. Guests to the station are only allowed in the Tabiar and Enshan quarters unless specifically invited to another section or event.

History

Kalish station was originally built 200 years before the Oprhelian wars and has been continually updated. Some of the original core is still visable in the East wing and is often visited as a heritage site. Originally meants as a trading depot, its centralized location between the 9 allowed a high capital influx allowing it to triple in size before being designated as a place of power.
