Granite Rhufbar IV

Prince Granite IV Rhufbar (a.k.a. Grant)

Prince Granite (or Grant as the crew of the Miranda insist on calling him), is very much out of his depth currently.  He isn't terribly snotty or anything, but at the same time, he is a prince, and he is used to a certain level of deference and creature comforts, neither of which have been in especially good supply recently.  He is nearly come of age (for a royal at least) and was very much looking forward to stepping into some actual positions of authority back home before he got swooped up in his current circumstances.  He is not going to be a terrible person by any means, but will come across as a bit of a tool to start, do to the confluence of the above-stated elements, and the fact that he will see in ER someone with even less use or status on board than he (which he had been desperately needing).  Being a young prince in a fairly medieval society, he will undoubtedly be interested in feats of strength and arms, since those are far more interesting than those of the mind.  He is however aware of the rare opportunity he has been afforded to have Stefano as his tutor, so he's not just a total lump of muscle either, and that will give him another way to attempt to flex on ER, so to speak.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Granite is a well-fed, strong specimen of a young man.  As a result, he is a bit taller and more muscular than is often seen in the peasantry, and he carries it well.  Training in various martial arts, most particularly the rapier (for duels on foot) and the saber (for those in the saddle) has led him to be generally fit, active, and coordinated.  He has not trained as a soldier or laborer however, and as a result he has more than enough wind to last for a fight or two, however a day of travel on foot or of repetitive hard labor would not go particularly well for him, although he would most likely be able to complete it.

Mental characteristics

Education

In addition to the standard education afforded the scion of a noble house in the Corner (etiquette, martial training, political and military history, etc etc) he has also been afforded the much more rare opportunity to be tutored by a Master of the International Magicians' Consortium, Stefano Gorbalienko from the age of six or so.  As a result, he is actually fairly well versed in mathematics and the sciences, has a rather deeper understanding of history not only in the corner itself, but also in the larger Funhouse, and even knows a very little about magic stuff.  The extent of his knowledge in elements arcane is limited to knowing what people generally can and can't do, their limits, and the costs associated with various efforts he may wish to employ people to undertake as a ruler.
