The Beacon

Purpose / Function

The Beacon is the home location of the Scout Groups. It serves to house the Scouts when they're not on a mission, as well as to serve as a lighthouse to allow groups beyond the walls to see where the city is and for the lookout to see what's beyond the glacier walls.
A large hot air balloon equipped with a lookout post and a rotating dual-faced light. The lookout post allows workers to see out beyond the walls, either for lost people, resources, or the coming weather.

Architecture

The base of the Beacon is a constructed office made of wood and metal. The building has a few closed off offices, though mainly has large, open living areas for the scouts to relax when they're not on a mission. Stationed on the roof of the building is a large heat vent for refueling the hot air balloon, as well as large mechanical winches to pull in the beacon balloon should it need refueling or the weather get bad.
