Maco
The village of Maco is visible from amongst a patchy scrub of small trees. All around the village in a giant circle are the remnants of a once wider forest, now reduced to hundreds of splintered, aging stumps. Several flocks of sheep and a few donkeys graze on the thin grass between the trunks. Indeed the lumber mill at the centre of the village is abandoned. Villagers walk around it with the same reverence afforded to an ancient ruin, and it creaks with the sea wind coming east from the Milkwater, a thin line in the distance. The buildings of the village are built neatly around the lumberyard, which serves as a sort of town square.
Maco's leader is Roderro of Maco, appointed as Councillor by the Duchy of Argo in 1050.
