During a bright and sunny day, a wood elf was born. The new mom and dad were completely in love with their baby girl. Only two months later, the town where this small family lived was set aflame by Orcs.
Many miles away, monks living at a monastery noticed smoke and were curious to know where it was coming from. A few of the monks decided to make the trek only to find a burned down village with a handful of living wood elves and many charred bodies. I was one of the few living elves. Sadly, both of my parents perished in the fire and I was left orphaned at two months old.
The monks led us back to their monastery where I grew up and was named K for the sake of simplicity. The monastery is quiet, secluded, and full of many different races. The monks allow many people to stay as long as they help keep the area clean and participate in monk things.
I do not remember my life before the monastery and I have never ventured outside. This is the only life I know and it is time I see the world.
Before leaving the monastery, I was trained to defend myself and to survive in tough situations. The other monks were kind enough to donate some gold to help me during my journey.

It´s Probably Fine

Continuing north, we found a loner chillin in the middle of nowhere so Kahla killed him. That night, we heard the humming again (which Cordelia and I decided to tell the group about this time). I think it’s just something that happens in this general area but I’m not sure. Cordelia and I can’t figure out where it’s coming from. That morning, we heard a very loud thunderous clap coming from the north which caused everything to get even colder and also stopped the snowing…odd.
Anyway, we continued north!! Annnnd we came across some bad guys that we could not sneak around unfortunately. But that’s okay because the world is better without them. Well…that’s what I thought before the fight anyway. I mean the world is still better without bad guys BUT I may have made an enemy. Aerilyn accidentally summoned a lich-hag from hell. Kahla tried to tie the ugly lady down so MY SILLY BUTT thought it would be great to pitch in. The cool part is that I got to try out my new quarterstaff and it’s pretty dope. Feels good, feels real good. Buuuuuuuut, after batting practice on the ugly lady’s head, she stole my hair and said “I’ll be seeing you again” or whatever. The less cool part is that she said it to me specifically so…yeah. A little scary but it’s probably fine.
We Be Walking

Lots of walking these last few days. A few interesting things have happened though. We came across a few elemental monsters but we snuck by pretty easily. I busted my butt today crossing a frozen river…we don’t need to talk about it. Through the night, I heard the frozen river hum. Interesting…
Continuing our journey, I stepped on cultist bones. EWWWW. Those poor dead cultists. On another note, Aerilyn and I found a lot of good stuff in barrels! Yay stuff!! We made sure to share the load with everyone in the group.
Anyway, the goal is to stay north until we come across a cultist city. Hopefully we can sneak by them too. Then we fight the big frozen monster. This place gets more and more intense as we go on.

After our intense fight with tons of creepy dudes, we built a little igloo to rest before carrying on. It took a little while but we did it. Aerilyn somehow got us all high and I really talked a lot…I also shared my fairy stool and ONLY HAVE TWO LEFT because BORRIS thought it was a good idea to eat a handful. Oh well…I guess we can only move forward.
During the night, Cordelia had the first watch. I heard Kahla talking to Cordelia about finding her before? I’m not sure. It felt like a dream. During my watch, I was sooooo bored so I decided to build a SnowElf. AND I MADE A MASTERPIECE. Luckily, I found some objects on and around Borris (such as a blanket, a button, an axe, and a healing potion) that I could incorporate onto my SnowElf! I named them CryoK because I made them look like me but in SnowElf form. I’ll miss you, CryoK. I wish we could have taken you along with us. Before we left, I agreed with Noelani that we should not leave our items behind. I return the blanket, axe, and healing potion to Borris, however, I keep the button to myself as a reminder of the beautiful SnowElf I made during my time in the north. Maybe I can use this button in the future on a different art piece.
We walked for a bit while it was a little harder to see than usual and eventually came across a canyon with a broken bridge. Now we have to figure out how to get to the other side..also, random wooden beads were put into my hands and I have no idea what to do with them. I think they could be prayer beads but it’s hard to tell in this environment. Anywayyyyyyy, we tied some rope to trees on either side of the canyon. Good thing Noelani can fly! She was able to get the rope secure to a tree root on the other side. Walking across that rope felt very safe, I was super relaxed for sure. Annnnnd we were able to sneak by the cult guys!! Big scary cold demon, here we come!
Death is Nigh

Aerilyn and I were wayyyyyy too far ahead of the group this time. There were so many bad guys…I’m starting to fear what else is to come. If these guys can kick my booty then there’s no telling what the big monster will do to me. I think we need to come up with a better plan. :/
Also, Aerilyn opened a portal to another dimension? It looked super cool! Buuuuuut is going there a good idea? It was green and leafy so probably yes. Maybe I can find the Grand Master there! Not just in my dreams! Who knows.
Borris and the Behemoth

Borris, Cordelia, and I decide to go inside the cave we were unsure about. And boy did we regret our decision immediately…there is a HUGE monster inside so we ran right out of there very quickly. Since the monster chased us out, we had to find a way to get rid of it. Cordelia and I both had the same thought, lure the monster out onto the frozen lake! On my way out to the ice, I had Borris hold my rope just in case I were to fall into the water (since I’m not as good at swimming as Cordelia). Well…BORRIS decided to FOLLOW ME onto the ice STILL HOLDING THE ROPE. Right next to me…HE STOOD RIGHT NEXT TO ME. COME ON, BORRIS. Good thing the ice ended up being super thick.
Anyway…enough of that…after many minutes of fighting this horrendous monster, we finally succeeded in leading it out onto the frozen lake. Borris, being right next to it, took a meteor from the sky and smacked the monster HARD. Then he pushed him in the water like it was nothing lol…I figured I could help a little so I hit the monster as well to stun him. Borris seems to have some tricks up his sleeve…good for Borris. Everybody else pitched in to make sure the monster did not come back up out of the water. And we did it! It died!
Borris, still holding my rope, then decided to walk away from the frozen lake…and PULLED ME ALONG WITH HIM. Wow…just wow. Borris is really keeping me on my toes. I also very much dislike caves now.
What Next?

Back in the ship, over the next two days, Idris sewed some of the silverthorn into one of my hand wraps. Now I can slice my enemies when I punch them! I also decided to try growing some plants and kept up my coin flipping. Eras also spoke with our group about the purple lightning that struck us a while back. He called it the “boone”? He said it would save millions of lives to have it removed so we agreed to let him do so. While he was doing the séance to remove the “boone”, I went into a dream state where I saw the Grand Master. He was being attacked by a spider lady!!! You better believe I kicked that spider butt. I need the Grand Master! I have no idea what he can do for me yet! Anyway, Eras successfully took the purple lightning from us. I felt sooooo much better too.
Then I noticed dust falling from the ceiling…meaning something big was probably about to collapse the ceiling in on us. I tried my best to grab my friends and run out of the way but a dragon appeared and then suddenly everything went dark (I fell asleep according to Noelani…everyone did). When I woke up, the ship was completely wrecked. Razis died, Zudd was dying, Idris was freezing to death, and we could not find Viravel. Aerilyn remembered the flower from the furnace so I helped her feed the petals of the flower to everyone that needed warmth. Kahla was also able to find Viravel and bring him back to our ship wreck so he was safe as well.
After getting “settled” (or settled enough), Noelani told us what happened. The keepers of time took Eras…there must be a way to help him. Kahla and I decided to scope out the area to make sure it was safe…it wasn’t. We fought some bad guys which kinda sucked because we were all pretty jacked up from the crash. Cordelia came in clutch though. She summoned some crazy demons that ate the big enemy so that was helpful. I have no idea what to expect now…I don’t know what do to.
Testing Plants

Things keep getting more and more interesting. I punched Borris because he had a worm inside of him that Sam ripped out and killed. When we saw the black oily blood inside of Borris, he had a flash back about the Eras in our current timeline (not the good Eras – good Eras is dope). Borris seemed upset about his flash back so I took the opportunity to give him some fairy stool which made him hallucinate. AND MAN IT WORKED GOOD. He was able to remember so many details about the bad Eras in our current timeline!
Then we drained Borris which made him feel gross. He was like a giant popped blister. Thankfully, Eras was able to tell me about all the plants we took from the tower! The dragonspine I had helped Borris shed his skin. FANTASTIC. I’m so glad Borris is okay with trying out my plants.
I had another dream about the Grand Master too. But this time I spoke to him! He said he can teach me many things. Maybe he can teach me how to fight better and to control my emotions, so I don’t accidentally kill anyone out of anger (like that one captain guy who stabbed me). A lot has happened…I only hope we make it out of this first adventure alive. There is so much more to fix in the world.
Tatashka & The Tall One

After gathering several plants, Urthan came up the fireplace and told everyone to get to the ground floor of the tower. There was a naked wizard on the ground…he seemed to be unconscious until Sam was able to help him cough up some flower petals. The petals looked to be from that heavy flower we found that is now growing in our furnace on the ship! The wizard mentioned something about this plant being able to turn you into a fire elemental and/or keeps you warm in cold weather? After asking him some questions about the flower, he said this plant is from a different timeline and it is called Tatashka. TATASHKA. The plant that grows in fire. I wonder if it has the same properties in this timeline? Only one way to find out!!
Much discussion happened today. The wizard is Eras whom we found a photo of not long ago. He is the papa of Borris. Eras is old which does not make sense to Borris because Eras was relatively young when he created Borris (which was fairly recent apparently). We shared many stories with Eras and he shared his knowledge and assumptions of what is happening. Eras explained that he has lived in many timelines, all of which Borris dies except this one. He believes something is different about this timeline…and we have about a week to get a handle on things before they go sour like sourgrass very quickly.
There was also talk about the “tall one”. This “tall one” was worshiped by the incredibly smart goblins because he gave them increased abilities. Apparently, the water from the goblin’s mountain is what was giving everyone increased abilities. Aerilyn still had some with her so she showed it to Eras who had the same exact water with him from another timeline. Not sure what the heck is happening but I am overwhelmed. I just want my plants and the world to live normal and happy lives.
Before leaving the tower, I asked Eras about the plants on the third floor and if he had any plant books to spare. Of course, he was kind enough to give me just that! I’ll be sure to add all my new knowledge to my journal. Eras also rubbed something on my eyelids which gave me truesight so I could see anything hidden on my way back to the ship. AND I SAW THINGS. I saw some weird looking mechanical ghosts. They were glitchy and creepy! I hurried back to the ship to pick up the group from the tower. Eras explained that those things were keepers of time and that he is a wanted man…maybe he should have thought of that before he decided to time travel.
PLANTSSSS

We came across a tower and quite a few more bad guys. Sam and Cordelia worked together to confuse all the bad guys and scared them all away. So that's cool. Taking a closer look at the tower, we noticed that there were no door handles. But there was a scale in a glass case next to what we figured was the door. One on side of the scale was a replica tower and the other side had rocks. There was a note that said "tipping the scales holds the key" so we thought we needed to make the rocks weigh more than the tower. THEN we found out that the replica tower weighed the same as the ACTUAL tower (or so we thought anyway, no idea actually).
Anyway, the little rocks on the scale weigh a ton and nobody could seem to lift them...or move the scale at all. And then Noelani flew above the tower and we saw a tiny little replica of her flying above the tower replica. ADORABLE! The puzzle seemed unsolvable so Cordelia teleported inside the tower and opened the door from the inside. We definitely need to go back and find the solution to that puzzle.
Inside the tower, I touched an extremely cold egg...and it definitely hurt so probably won't do that again. Then Cordelia figured out that the fireplace was used for travelling up and down the floors of the tower! Genius! Witchcraft! On one of the floors, we found soooooo many plants! Some of the plants were listed in our herbology book that we found so I decided to take some. I took 10 of each plant (included several handfuls of sweet grass) in that room and I am SO EXCITED to use them. There was one plant that I probably should not have touched though...I was taking mad hits. I CANNOT WAIT TO FIND OUT WHAT IT IS. Noelani helped heal me so it's all good!
Icy Eyeballs

So we flew over this small crowd of scary looking people and decided they probably are bad. We decided to land and fight them. During the fight, they seemed like some sort of undead people with ice for eyeballs. Iceballs LOL. After killing most, we had one left which Kahla killed by writing a name onto their skin which turned them to ice. We believe they worship that one giant scary monster...I can't write the name because I don't want my journal to freeze. Sam cut the frozen guy's head off just in case it wasn't already dead I guess.
No idea what to expect coming up but I know we have a fight to prepare for.
The Gnome and the Wizard
2/8/2022 (late entry)
Investigating around the town, we went into a building that contained some alchemy stuff. We found a book here called Crafting and Gathering: Alchemy, Herbalism, and Poisons. I'm currently holding on to the book but everyone else is totally allowed to check it out. There was another building black with smoke and, for some reason, Kahla and Borris went inside...Kahla collapsed but Borris was able to pull him out. After that, we decided nobody else should go in. We did end up finding a very heavy flower behind the building though. It has petals like flames and a yellow center. Sadly, it was not listed in our new book so I have no idea what this is.
There was also a general store that we went inside. In the back room, Sam found a lot of ice and three dead bodies...not great. There was also a weird symbol on the ground with a copper ball in the center. I have no idea what any of this means but it does not look good. I noticed Sam put roses on each of the dead bodies which was a sweet and kind gesture. Cordelia sent out her magical servant guy who ended up finding a photo (what an odd thing this photo). The back of the photo has a name, Eras Phophior. Turns out Borris recognizes the wizard in the photo. He also recognizes the dress of one of the family members in the photo and the flower as well...is the wizard the flower? Borris decided to share that he started as a non-living gnome and the wizard brought him to life...WHAT.
Back on our ship, we put the flower inside the furnace and noticed that was THRIVING. It grew roots and bloomed a second flower over night. We also woke up to a thundering boom and then Noelani started arguing with her bird...I think I'll stay out of their issues.
I died...

I had another dream…it’s the same dream, only a little more detailed. This time, the man in my dreams (someone called the Grand Master) stated that “life can be found in the present moment” and that we can only be in touch with life in the present moment. Such wisdom. I need to find him. But first, I will help tend to our current matters.
After fighting the ooze, we noticed a church nearby and decided to check it out. Everything was fine until Urthan DIED FROM A BEAM OF DEATH. This was my first time seeing this creature…and it was not cute. I knew something had to be done, it needed to be stopped! So, I hit it again and again and again and…well…I’m embarrassed to say that I only landed one slap. ONE. SLAP. Then…IT BEAMED ME TO DEATH. ME. I DIED. You know what it feels like to die? No, you don’t because you’re just a journal…
Thank goodness we have Sam (amazing creature, that Sam…we need him). He was able to bring me back to life so I could hit the create two more times. YOU BEST BELIEVE I LANDED THOSE SMACKS. Then…out of nowhere…Kahla jumped on this creature and starting pulling its eye out. This cat LITERALLY slammed his hand into the eye of this nasty creature and started PULLING. I have never seen anything like it…
Kahla succeeded in pulling out the eyeball which killed the creature and gave us a chance to look around. Since the eyeball was super powerful, I guess Borris, Urthan, and Kahla had to pile on top of it…yet another situation I have never seen. They called it a dog pile? Sam discovered that the symbol (made from blood by the way) on the ground might have been a portal. He destroyed it by pouring holy water all over. Probably for the best.
Since Borris, Urthan, and Kahla REALLY wanted to keep the eyeball, I ran all the way back to the ship to see if the blacksmith guy could help contain it. I ran so fast that it only took me one minute to get back. Running that fast felt really good and somewhat warm even in this cold place. I didn’t know I had it in me! Anyway, the blacksmith guy was impressed that we captured the eyeball from what he called a Death Tyrant so we flew to the church to grab it. Somehow, this one item paid off all the dept Borris owed. I can’t believe all this happened in such a short amount of time…what an eventful hour (if even).
Ooze and Exploding Demons

We finally made it! We are in the Glacis Wilds! Before heading out, some members of the group covered the ship with brush from the area to disguise it. So much snow was falling that it was covering the ship quickly so I think the disguise worked well. Sam was smart to mark a tree with a symbol so that we would be able to find the ship again later. Viravel also agreed to stay behind to protect the ship while we are away. As we walked away from the ship, the wind was intense...it is dreadfully cold here. After a little while, we came across an abandoned town. There was an inn called the Creaking Doe that we all decided to check out.
Inside, I noticed a dead elf in the far back corner. I didn't see any weapons but saw that he was stabbed in the neck. I found 5 silver and a journal in his pockets! The journal was odd...his notes said something about "how to get better with swords", something about practicing, and then "23 CP to Knoplin Stalin by moonfall"...I guess he owed someone? We may never know. Whatever the case, I finally have a journal that I can keep my herb notes in!! WOOOO! I'll have a complete journal in no time!
Then I saw that everyone was surrounding a door making sizzling sounds. They all seemed scared to open it so I decided to open it for them! I think that was probably not the best idea though...a bunch of nasty black ooze spewed out and...well...it wanted to kill us. I tried so hard to close the door but the ooze was too strong. I was not strong enough :( and the only thing I could to was run away...leaving my friends in danger! WHO AM I?! I felt so bad leaving Borris and Sam near the ooze but they were able to get out alive. Noelani yelled for us to get away from the ooze so I grabbed Borris and headed outside. Cordelia summoned a bunch of demons in hopes that they would distract the ooze from us but it didn't quite work. However, the demons did eat some of the ooze and then blew up which was absolutely disgusting...but that's how things go sometimes I guess.
Through the window, I was able to shoot some ooze bits before sliding down the balcony railing to get away. That's when Sam said one word and then the entire inn was on fire. Sam is so freaking cool. After the battle, I felt amazing! I helped get rid of bad monsters and hope that our group continues to do so!
Flipping Coins

I’m not sure why but today, while I was flipping my coins, Aerilyn came over and said something mean. I thought we were friends…I have yet to hear any apologies. Rude. Anyway, I’m getting better at flipping these coins! I’m consistently getting about 6 coins every time now and Viravel has been giving me pointers as I work on it. I’ll get all 12 coins eventually!
While everyone was doing their own thing, Cordelia decided to go for a swim. It was all fine and dandy until she came across a giant water monster! Luckily, Noelani got her out but then the monsters spoke common and said “next time” so I think we plan to steer clear of the water for now.
That night, I had the same dreams that I’ve been having. The balance of the world is off…something is wrong in the north, south, east, and west (so many directions). There’s a long path in front of me that twists and turns. I’m worried for everyone around me…and then there’s an old man at a temple telling me “it’s time.” I probably should have asked him where to find him. Oh well! Maybe next time.
Until then, I plan to keep working on flipping these coins!
Optimism In The Sky

What to do with Viravel Corzel…well we won’t be fighting him. He shared quite a lot of information with us about his life, his culture, and 12 houses. It turns out that he is the last Corzel alive and is trying to integrate back into society. To do this, he thought killing us would gain him favor which would help him build his house again. After sharing his story with us, Urthan felt that he could relate to Viravel…they spoke of loneliness and a life without friends, family, or love. That saddens me. Because of Urthan, Viravel decided to stick around for a week to see how he likes us and whether we can work around trying to kill each other. Seems like a fair deal to me!
Viravel also shared that, at a young age, you must be able to flip 12 coins in both hands (at the same time) and be able to catch them all (AT THE SAME TIME). Obviously, I had to try!! I lost my streak at 8 coins, but I’ll try again and again and again!
During the night, we flew into a BIG storm. There were water tornados EVERYWHERE. Sam and Gab were doing a great job navigating through until all the waterspouts decided to combine into a FREAKING MONSTER NADO. That was a rough ride, man. But we made it out alive. After dealing with that storm, we came across some ghostly looking pirates on a ghost ship. They were so happy while singing that we all decided to sing along! Then they offered us a chest, so we created a monkey chain of people to reach it. It was SUCH a good day!!
When I went to sleep, I dreamt a very interesting dream. I was somewhere I had never been before. It was a beautiful area, very green with the sound of water in the distance. There was also someone there…sitting at an ancient temple. This person reached out to me in this meditative state and seems to be a master of martial arts. They said, “it’s time”. I’ll need to watch out for a similar landscape as soon as we finish defeating the giant monster in the north!
In the morning, another great thing happened! I found bushes in the clouds!! The weapons enchanter guy told me all about these plants. They are called Djinn Blossoms and they smell wonderful. I shall add them to my list of herbs! What a great couple of days. I can’t wait for more!
The Northern Journey Begins

Finally! We finished preparing, got our upside-down boat flying, and started heading north. Only 5 minutes into our trip, a dark elf appeared! He was in the hole in the closet hanging on for dear life when he told us he was going to kill us...apparently, we have a bounty on our heads. I thought joining this group would be fun...AND IT CERTAINLY IS! Monasteries are boring but these friends of mine are GREAT! They find strange people in closets.
After finding the dark elf, there was a loud bang from one of the rooms down the hall. Then Aerilyn through smoke everywhere and I could not see anything causing the banging. I decided to stand by the goblin flying the boat just in case someone were to attack. When Borris came my way, he ran straight into air...clearly something was there. I tried poking it with my quarter staff but nothing happened. Thennnnn the goblin and I got smacked around a bit which was NOT okay because HE NEEDED TO KEEP FLYING THE BOAT. Borris told me to run and grab a sword from the enchanter guy so I tried but tragically fumbled and dropped the sword.
Once the invisible creature was somewhat visible, the enchanter guy took off toward it. He went wild! He and Borris were able to do some damage and the creature blew up! Thankfully, I was far enough away from the explosion. After that was taken care of, we realized a dark elf was still here to kill us. Since he is an honorable "man", he told us he is a death messenger and that his name is Viravel Corzel (he didn't spell it for us). He seems nice so maybe we can convince him to let us go? Only time will tell.
Bring on the cold!
So we ran into Aerilyn’s mom. Her name is Idris and she seemed oddly unexcited to see Aerilyn. The entire reunion was rather awkward…I think I should probably stay out of that business as best I can.
We decided to pay Orson a visit. He didn’t seem very happy to see us aside from Borris. We were able to get a lot of information from Orson thanks to the “truth zone” he was in. We found out that Orson doesn’t know what Avril looks like or where she is but he did say she was last known to be heading north on a ship. Orson also told us exactly what Berian looks like, what he wears, and that he was last known to be heading southeast in order to continue his objective of resurrecting an old love. How sweet.
Orson also informed us that are monsters in the north. One particular monster is very large and thinks it is a deity. I won’t write its name in here…I don’t want my journal to turn to ice. The large monster is likely being summoned by a cult who are sacrificing people. And that’s when Orson bit off his own tongue…but that’s okay. I think we got all the information we need!
We must head north! Buuuuut it turns out our flying rock broke on our way through the portal we went through. We had to redecorate Kahla’s tavern to make it fly instead of trying to fix the rock. We got it done though. Bring on the cold!
Gloom Flowers and Accidents
Sooooo the girls decided to have a little adventure. Since Kahla pulled an all-nighter, he tasked Cordelia with picking up a brew that would help him stay awake. So the rest of us girls decided to join her! I can’t say I’ve ever had a girl’s day, but it was fun!
On our way to the shop, a half-orc stopped right in front of us and shoved a paper in our faces which had a picture of some guy’s face with a reward. Kind of random but if we need to catch a bad guy, we need catch a bad guy. First, we stopped by the Burning Eel to pick up that “wake up” brew for Kahla. Cordelia worked out a deal with the merchant – she wanted to pay less for the potion, so the merchant asked for a specific plant in return.
After leaving the Burning Eel and walking through town a bit, the boys caught up to us. We eventually came across this patch of beautiful looking flowers which Borris walked straight into. I guess he didn’t see the patch, so I followed him to try and pull him out buuuuuuut it turns out the plants hurt. They made my mind go a little crazy but that’s how mother nature is sometimes, you know? Ah well. Luckily, Borris scooped me up and walked right out of the patch. I guess he was okay after all! Then Borris chopped most of the flowers which made me kind of sad but we packed them up and took them back to the merchant so I know they will be put to good use.
Since I used my blanket to pack all those flowers, the merchant reimbursed me 1 copper to get a new one. That was very kind of him. I also asked if he was willing to share his knowledge of the flower, which he did after we compensated him with the flowers we brought back! HECK YEAH. Now I think I’ll get myself a journal to write down this knowledge and any future knowledge! There are so many flowers.
With the remaining gloom flowers, I got a bath potion and a battle brew potion. Thank you, Cordelia! Cordelia also managed to make friends with the merchant who introduced himself as Acoris. On our way out, Kahla and the half-orc (Urghan? Urgthan? Urrrrrrr..) spotted the guy from the flyer. So we obviously followed him. We snuck up on him while snapping our fingers to be intimidating I think…I just did what I was told. Once we walked into the area the bad guy was in, a door shut behind us and locked us in! Then more bad guys showed up! Turns out they were hiding in barrels.
These guys didn’t give me a lot of options, so I had to knock a few out. After clearing a path for myself, I ran after the main bad guy. I thought maybe we could talk about the situation, but he swung his sword at me and then stabbed me with his dagger. It went right into my side and hurt a lot. CAN YOU BELIEVE HIM??! He really hurt my feelings…I thought people could be better than that. I don’t really know what came over me, but I got so upset that I dropped my quarterstaff and backhanded the foolishness right out of him. So hard, in fact, that I accidentally broke his neck. I…uh…feel kind of bad about that but he hurt me first!
If anyone thought I did a bad thing, Sam came along and turned the rest of the bad guys into meat. Just…straight up meat. Mushed up people everywhere. Sam got red on him. Thankfully, I had a bath potion. I gave it to Sam – he needed it.
The last of the living bad guys were hiding in more barrels in the area. We told them to hop out and they were terrified of their surroundings. Kahla started questioning them about the boats and Mr. Faith, but these guys were useless. I told them I better not see them doing bad things ever again…or else…I think they will change their ways. We let them go.
Anyway, we found some good stuff after looting the dead bad guys. I’m sorry they had to die…but now their bodies are one with nature. Just how it should be.
New Friends
Dear Journal,
Things are crazy. We crashed through the portal but thankfully everyone was okay. After going through, our slab started acting funny, although I’m not sure how rocks can act at all. I immediately noticed that this area is much more crisp and cool. So cool that I had to pull out my blanket for warmth. This city, called Gere I think, smells like salt and the buildings have a buildup of salt all over them. Many of the dwarves in the area had magic lights instead of torches which is super environmentally friendly! The people here must be super powerful. The group decided it was probably best to rest for the night. As we figure out where we plan to sleep, some unfamiliar voices announced that they might have a place for us to stay.
A cat person (so soft) named Kahla and a sea elf named Cordelia offered us to stay in their tavern. How sweet of them! I’ll have to find some nice flowers to gift them. As we walked to the tavern, called the Crooked Tavern, I thought I might freeze without my blanket. It might be a good idea to find a coat before continuing our adventure. At the tavern (which has some pretty sweet decor if you ask me), Kahla shoved us all into a super tiny room for some reason. I was just hanging out in the back with Noelani when Cordelia opened the door causing Borris, Sam, and Aerilyn to fall over. Not sure what happened with them…
That night, I decided to stay up a while to help Kahla clean the tavern after everyone left. He told me that he would meditate with me if we find Mr. Faith and figure out why people are disappearing on boats. I’ll hold him too it!! After cleaning, I went to bed and had an intense dream. In the dream, it felt like the balance of the world was off. I know I can help fix this somehow…but how? What am I supposed to do?!?! It seems like there is something wrong in the North, East, South AND West. I think this means that we have a lot to do…a lot of cleaning up to do. I just hope everyone makes it out okay in the end.
Anyway, it turned out that I may not have been the only one with an intense dream that night. Noelani woke up with some sick wounds. She had a freaking SLICED NECK and was FOAMING at the mouth. Thankfully, Sam was able to heal her but she’s gonna have a gnarly scar. Noelani goes hard. I think she needs to meditate more.
Breakfast was an ordeal that morning too. I was just enjoying some delicious leaves when Sam and Aerilyn kept trying to sneak off. This, of course, did not make Kahla very happy and I had to listen to an argument while I ate. I wish we would all just get along. Finally, Cordelia took us to a secret room where we discussed Mr. Faith and the missing people. Turns out Mr. Faith is Aerilyn’s dad?! WOW! Talk about a small realm! Kahla and Cordelia told us everything they know about the city and mentioned three names: Berian Caphaxath, Orson Kaylock, and Avril Adams. These three people might be able to help us gain more knowledge on what is happening. Luckily, we already got ahold of Orson. Since he is in custody, we might pay him a visit and/or look for the others. Berian and Avril, here we come!
My First Fist Fight
It was a quiet night in the tent. I was fast asleep when, all of a sudden, I heard a loud BOOMING voice in my head yelling at me to wake up. So, obviously, I woke up. It said something about orcs being nearby and it turned out there were. I don’t know who was in my head but I thank them. Thank you, randomly loud voice! We found out the orcs AND a troll in the area were trying to kill some dwarves so we decided to help. As we got closer to the orcs, Borris jumped off the freaking slab which had to be HUNDREDS of feet off the ground. I definitely did not see that coming…then Sam saw an opportunity to make the troll silent. Of course, the rest of the group stayed on the slab until it safely reached the ground. Although, I think Borris might be on to something since he did so much damage to that troll by launching himself at it. I might try joining him next time.
About 20 feet above the orcs, our driver told us to jump off the slab and into the action. We all landed on our feet...all but Sam anyway. He must have forgotten to meditate. I’ll be sure to have more lessons. Once we were on the ground, we fought! I managed to take down an orc with my bare hands. Then Aerilyn, who didn’t even want to be there, LITERALLY DESTROYED the remaining orcs. Cloak of Billowing or not, she’s the MVP for real. After taking out all the orcs, the dwarves were able to introduce themselves. The first dwarf to introduce himself was Lunoc Jadefall. Then he introduced us to the rest of his group. One female dwarf, Nerdegrett, was sporting a blond beard with flowers in it. Such beauty.
Lunoc told us that his group was looking for someone named Orcen Kaylock. Once he said that, the weird little goblin guy on our slab took out a knife and held it to our slab driver. The little nasty was trying to take our slab! Thankfully our driver is a mage and flipped the slab over causing Orcen to fall off. THEN Orcen took off running but his tiny legs are no match for me and my new shoes! I hope everyone saw the look on his face when I tackled him to the ground. Silly goblin. After catching him, the dwarves thanked us and asked how they could repay us. Sam discussed possible rewards with the dwarves while Aerilyn questioned Orcen.
Aerilyn isn’t very successful at getting anything out of Orcen until she charmed him into thinking they’re besties. Smart thinking on her part because she did find out a ton of information! She found out that people are being shipped to the Glacis Wilds via boat. A deal was made with a powerful being to have these people shipped to this “final destination” and, in return, whoever made the deal would be given power. Everyone was saying not to get on any boats but we might have to if we want to stop this “powerful being”. Aerilyn also mentioned that it could be helpful to have a Sgand seal to be marked as safe but who knows if that’s true. Only one way to find out!
After some discussion, we got back on our slab. The dwarves decided to rest while I held a meditation session for the group! I’m so glad the group wants to learn more about meditation. It is good for the soul. During our session, the group entered a shared conscience. I have absolutely no idea how this happened…BUT I LOVE IT! Because of this shared conscience, we ended up seeing each other’s dreams! AMAZINNNNNNG. In my dream, I can tell that the balance of the world is off…there is a long path ahead of me and I am left wondering what it takes to make the first step. Where does this long path go??? What is happening to the world??? The rest of the group’s dreams are…well…kind of messed up actually. I tasted so much blood in Borris’s dream and Aerilyn’s dream was super creepy. Sam’s dream was kind of sad and Noelani’s dream was painful. I MEAN WHERE IS THE HAPPINESS?!
After our session, the group went a little silent. For a moment, everyone seemed shocked. Then Sam received a magic paper (what is with these magic papers) that said help was needed and I think it was written in blood. Noelani also received a magic paper but it blew up on her…super weird. When the dwarves woke up, we realized we were getting closer to a portal which Noelani, Sam, and Aerilyn were able to open. It definitely looked painful. With the help of the dwarves, we were all able to get through the portal including the slab. Thank goodness!
Anyway, we have a lot of work to do. More meditating will help, I’m sure of it!
The Flying Rock
So…we’re on a flying rock. The goblin mage steering this thing, names Rasiz, has been kind enough to teach the others how to fly it as well. I wouldn’t even know where to begin with flying in general. My new group has decided the best course of action would be to head north. I have no idea what’s there but I’m excited nonetheless! Before heading that way, we made a stop to go shopping. SHOPPINNNNNNG!
While shopping, I was told I needed to gear up before we head north. I guess my basic monk clothes aren’t going to do it for this trip. Since I am not the riches person on the planet, the group shared their money with me (I am so thankful) so I could get some FREAKING BOMB new items. Borris recommended I invest in some new hand wraps, so I took his advice and asked a nice lady at the store if they had any fancy hand wraps. Lucky me, they did! She gave me a set of Lion Wraps (which are stunning) that I can use on my arms or feet! THE OPTIONS ARE ENDLESS.
I thought I was pretty set after that, but Sam seemed to think otherwise. He recommended I ask about “fast shoes”. So, of course, I did. And I got some Shoes of Speed. SHOES OF SPEED I TELL YOU. I am SO FAST. Nobody can catch me now. I’m like a full-blown superhero. I just need a theme song.
I felt great after those purchases, so I think I’m finally ready for our trip north. Just before we left, Aerilyn wanted one more thing. She found this crazy cloak, the Cloak of Billowing, and I’m not sure what she was thinking when she bought it, but I think it makes her happy, so I think she made the right choice. It is not by any means practical…but it does seem to bring the group a lot of joy. I mean the cloak is in a constant state of windiness like it’s stuck in a hurricane or something but…at least we can put in the bag of holding when we need to.
Once we finished purchasing items, we got back on the slab (aka the flying rock) to begin our travel to the north. That night, on the slab, I felt a very familiar feeling in my head, and I could hear a voice! It was kind of scary, especially since I normally only hear my own voice inside my head. The voice in my head was female. I don’t think she was speaking common…or any language. It was more like thoughts I was able to interpret. I think this might have something to do with the big boom and the purple lightning but who knows.
Anyway, I had amazing dreams on the slab. I dreamt of beautiful meadows and peace and even dreamt of meditating! It was wonderful. Unfortunately, I think Borris wasn’t so lucky with his dreams. He woke up looking like he got slapped in the face several times and didn’t get any sleep. He shared his dream with us which sounded awful…I’m glad it wasn’t me! My dreams were lovely!
Sam tried to convince us that a God is a play here. Borris and I weren’t so sure…Sam seemed confused by our thought process and told us that his fire-bending was his God. I don’t really know what that means. I know of Gods because of my upbringing at the monastery. Many of the monks worshipped Gods but since many of the people there came from other areas to seek refuge, there wasn’t just one God to worship. There are so many to choose from. Too many! It’s hard to know which God is worth worshipping! I guess I don’t really know who or what to believe.
The next day, the group slept while Borris and I stayed awake. He was curious about my past, so I told him about all the things I used to do at the monastery. Meditating and martial arts practice. Ah, the simple life. I joked about sparring with him, but he took it very seriously, so I walked away from the conversation. Awkward… Somehow, the rest of the group woke up and got involved which became an ordeal. Sam told us he wanted to learn how to punch, so I tried to teach him the basics. The basics always start with meditation, but he didn’t seem to understand. Probably means he needs to meditate more. Then, OUT OF NOWHERE, Aerilyn threw a freaking punch at Sam! Then Noelani stepped in and tried to stop Aerilyn, and it turned into a mess. I didn’t mean for all that to happen. That’s the last time I joke about sparring with Borris.
That night, I had more amazing dreams of meadows and meditation. I am loving this trip! Borris woke up sweaty again…poor guy. During our hang out time on the slab, we noticed a random Goblin in the distance running toward our slab. Once he came up to us, he seemed to be super interested in Borris. After some weird conversation with this “no-named” Goblin and Borris continuously holding him, he explained that he is a foreign diplomat polymorphed into a Goblin previously a human. He lived in Sgand and was somehow teleported here but doesn’t remember anything else. We are the first people he has seen since being teleported here. Not sure what to do with this Goblin guy…but the group has decided to take him in! I’ll teach him about yoga and meditation!
My First Day!
Several weeks (I lost track of time) after leaving my monastery, I saw a random group of strangers and decided to follow them. Being the somewhat shy (and awkward) individual that I am, I hid until I felt comfortable saying hello. Before I had the chance to introduce myself, the group came across a GIANT spider which wasn't great...then I saw a man stuck inside of a web sac and knew I had to help him! While I worked on freeing this man, I could hear the group talking about whether or not they were going to fight this spider. One of the members from this group, the tiefling (that's what she says she is anyway), noticed me and then A WALL CAME OUT OF NOWHERE and I couldn't see them anymore. I was very confused.
After this wall showed up, I figured I should probably finish saving the man from the web sac so I did just that. He clung to me for dear life...and then we ran away. Thank goodness for that random wall! As it turned out, the whole group ran too and I was finally able to introduce myself! Then Connor, the man I saved, introduced himself as a scout so it's a good thing I saved him (I think?). I like saving people. During my time with the group, I saw many things I have never seen before. Like they had magic paper they used to talk to people who were far away. MAGIC PAPER I TELL YOU. I mean...I know about magic and I have heard stories but MAGIC PAPER?!
Anyway, we started going down the mountain after all that. Borris and Sam helped clear the way and, although I couldn't really see the sky, I could tell it was storming pretty hard. At the bottom of the mountain, Noelani revealed a crazy looking spider orb thing and held it up to the sky. Freaking lightning struck the orb and I got hit (we all got hit) but we SURVIVED. I felt a little nauseous but mostly unaffected. I also feel this weird presence in my head now...I guess that means I'm a FREAKING SUPER HERO. The guys back at the monastery are never going to believe me. Sadly, the spider orb thing disappeared but Noelani seemed pretty happy about the situation so that's probably good.
After some discussion, the group decided that we should travel through Orc Territory to find some prince guy? Something about the whole world being under attack. So we finally get to this guy and then everyone has to evacuate and I was a little overwhelmed so I just followed the group. I also noticed that this prince guy had a weird stone in his hand and, when he squeezed it, meteors came out of the sky. METEORS. I think he killed like half the orc population. What a time to be alive!
