The War of Silver Brittle

Tension between the Mountain Dwarves and the northern Wood Elves has always been high. The two groups have competed over territory and resources for millennia. The isthmus was ablaze while Elven and Dwarven forces pushed and pulled for control. Although humans were uninvolved in the conflict, they were not exempt from collateral damage and human settlements, such as Ghoss , were left ravaged beyond repair. The conflict spanned some 200 years and the continents of Yunka  and Lurzia  were cut off from one another by land.

The Conflict

Battlefield

The entire Moltanian Peninsula, particularly the area surrounding the human settlement of Ghoss .

Conditions

At the end of the Fourth Age, a lasting peace between the Elves and the Dwarves seemed within the realm of possibility. The King of the Sylvans, Ulanduian II and The Dwarven Lord Montha held a meeting at Ghoss to discuss the terms of a lasting peace between the races. A written contract was all but finalized when tragedy struck. The young Elven Prince Ulanduian III and Dwarven Prince Maut Montha were sparring in the courtyard with wooden swords and ornate silver armour, putting on a show. The sparring was playful and the parents and townspeople looked on with optimism and cheerfulness until Maut Montha lunged with too much gusto and pierced Ulanduian's ornate silver plate armour, killing him instantly. Both sets of parents cried out and Ulanduian II quickly became convinced that Maut Montha had been coerced by his father into slaying the young Elven prince. The ensuing war brought devastation to Moltania for 8 generations and those in the thick of things fantasized about state of the world had the young Elven prince borne even slightly thicker armour.
