LMD Session 3: September 10, 2020
General Summary
The adventure began in Ivanhammer. Having reconvened, Priest, Rhiannon, and Sora finished speaking with Arielo and agreed to rendezvous with her and Shamail at the Mage's shop near the town square. The trio decided to pass the time by familiarizing themselves with the town's outskirts. They circled around through a quiet tract of houses before arriving at the school. Outside the school, the adventurers confronted a sight yet unseen within Ivanhammer, a distraught citizen. They approached. Meiroma was weeping, tirelessly, and was almost too caught up in her sorrow to notice the prospect of help. The persistent adventurers eventually caught her attention. Meiroma explained that her daughter, Mystima had gone missing near The River Ivan. She reported last seeing her by the water mill behaving strangely; she had been walking on all fours, snarling like a beast.
Meiroma led the adventurers to the site and the trio began to investigate the premises. Rhiannon was concerned that the poor girl had been swept up by the water mill and was relieved to find no sign of her in the unyielding blades. She continued to find a trail of quadrupedal tracks leading to the brush near where Priest was searching. The trio investigated further to find a tuft of fur ensnared by one of the more impassable bushes. The trio left Meiroma near the river bank and set forth east through the woods.
Eventually the adventurers stumbled upon a clearing. A suspicious mound of earth rose from the center, standing as an eyesore amongst the otherwise vibrant grasses. The trio cautiously set out to investigate, circling the mound in apprehension. Rhiannon, most eager to indulge, spotted a fleck of glass amongst the dirt, but before she had time to unearth it, a hulking boar emerged menacingly from the woods. The trio assumed their battle positions and Priest moved to shield Rhiannon from its imminent charge. The boar made several unsuccessful attacks against Priest's cumbersome plate armor, which sought to atone for its thwarting of a stealthy approach. Sora landed a particularly effective fire bolt, before the others managed to restrain the beast. Sora channeled her Mind Link in an attempt to communicate with the boar, who responded, surprisingly sentient. In a brief conversation, Sora was able to gather that the boar had a master and that the missing girl, Mystima was in its company, willingly. The boar, growing impatient, freed itself from its restraints and assumed a position atop the mound. In her close proximity, Sora was able to gather that the fleck of glass was a vial containing a mysterious liquid. In a suspenseful and delicate ceasefire, the adventure concluded.
