The Ignaki

The Grey Wastes is one of the least known and most hostile regions on all of the Fractured Lands. It is a land that few venture through, and a land that even fewer call home. After the Fracturing, it was said that just under 220,000 called the Wastes home. Mostly a nomadic people, the Ignaki – commonly referred to as the Wastelanders – journeyed from hot spring to hot spring in order to feed their livestock and to scavenge for any food that they could find.   The Ignaki are hunters who’s primary game is the Omaj – a large horned beast with thick shaggy grey fur. The Omaj live off very little and can sustain themselves by eating less than a pound of snowberries per week. An incredible feat given their massive size. The Ignaki hut the omaj for their fur, meat, and tusks. The omaj also produces a thick, tar-like substance between their fur and muscled that allows the Ignaki to burn fires in even the harshest of conditions.   Because of the countless wars waged in the Grey Wastes, fewer than 10,000 Ignaki remain in the region, with many either assimilated in the cultures of the Highkeep or Caelisport, or wiped out entirely.
