Initially in service of the Zhentil and his Empiric pursuits, the orginsations went through dozens of remodeling depending on who was in power and what religious beliefs held sway. After the last schism in the order, The Black Network re organised itself into a public facing service of trade and mercantile work but under the surface their roots grow deep.
