She latter attended the Arcane institute of Lore, a reputable arcane school with a primary interest in historical research and expeditions. academic. Things did not end well between the two, Zarthen coped by diving deeper into her studies. This lead her to academic success and eventually rising to the top of her field. While academic success provided her with many opportunities, she found the experience to be stuff and distasteful.
Zarthen would later be hired by many nobles, royals and adventurers in Faerun to help with their expeditions. Re invigorating her love for lore, history and the arcane. She wrote many books about her travels to varying success.
