Dafon wool

The Dafon is a plant that, while a bit tricky to grow, can give you a very soft material often called Dafon wool. The plant groes small tuffts of soft material in which its seeds are burried, which then follows in the wind when it's ready. If you harvest it before the seeds get too big however, you can spin it up and make really soft thread that can be woven. It isn't a particularly hardy material, but its usually used on the inside of more sturdy weave that isn't as soft to make clothes more comfortable for the wearer. The thread is also very subseptible to dye, so it's often used for decoration and patterns on clothing. Dafon wool is best to make small think threads, as you can spin the fibrers harder without the thread snapping. For the inner lining for jackets and similar however you usually use the bigger threads, since it doesn't need to hold any weight up. There are machines that take care of the Dafon wool from it's collection to the readymade thread, which is then fed into weavers of which some are automated and some are handdriven. What makes Dafon wool so good as a material, outside of its softness towards the skin, is it's warmth and breathability. Perfect for a cold winters day, but you won't stink the second you do any work since the sweat leaves your body. It's still recommended that you wash anything made of Dafon wool fairly often, as it keeps it fresh and usable longer. You should never wash it in heated up water however. The fibrers of the Dafon wool curl when heated up, to act as a sail when its dried on the plant. This does however mean that in best case scenarion you'll get a jacket a few sizes smaller, in worst case that the whole thing is pulled apart.
