Summon a being or thing for a short duration of time. Intelligent creatures which do not consent to the summoning may attempt to prevent their summoning. The cost of the attempt equal to the rank or value/10 of the creature or item summoned. The summoned creature or object returns to the place from which it was summoned at the end of the spell. The summon spell does not guarantee any protection from a summoned creature.
Lesser Summon
Half the cost of Summon. Only generalized summoning requests can be made, such as 'a shovel' or 'a bull'. The age, condition and type of item or creature is random.
Greater Summon
Twice the cost of Summon. A specific named thing or a thing with specific characteristics may be summoned, such as a raging bull or a 2-handed iron shovel.
Limitations and Errata
Summoning a thing does not provide the Summoner with any special knowledge of where the item originated from. Summoned creatures are summoned with whatever they are currently wearing or holding. All items summoned this way return with the summoned thing. While summoned, all summoned creatures leave whatever traces they would otherwise leave on the environment.
