Striking Drills
Slice - 5% certainty from each point of weapon curve. Quick: a tight, curved trajectory resembling the letter 'J'. It's effective for quick, cuts that can transition into other movements. Requires very little space. Diagonal attacks that follow gain 50% certainty. Swings that follow gain 75% certainty. Diagonal: This is a basic slicing motion that cuts across the body from shoulder to opposite hip, or vice versa, covering a larger area of the opponent in the same space. Drag: Often used in close-quarters, a weapon is pushed or pulled across an opponent to slice them open. Effective in clashes. Thrust - %5 certainty from weapon straightness. Skewering Thrust - Straight weapons benefit. Pointed weapons benefit. A hard drive through an opponent designed to lodge a weapon in them or their armor. Increases certainty of clashes. Swing - hew: A tight swing that works best with the cutting tip of the weapon, such as when using an axe, or sword. Similar to a j-cut. Hews have high damage potential but are very dependant on accuracy since they rely on a short, quick strike with the optimal cutting edge of a weapon. Overhead Swing: Can be used over a crouching party member in front, maximizes chances of head contact, often used in formation with polearms, daggers, or against prone opponents. Swings require a lot of strength and don't have to be particularly accurate, useful in narrow, Horizontal Swing: A basic swing that moves the weapon horizontally at waist or shoulder level to strike an opponent. It's common in both Eastern and Western martial arts. They require a lot of strength Figure-Eight Swing: Involves swinging the weapon in an '8' pattern, allowing for continuous fluid motion that can deflect incoming attacks and transition into multiple offensive moves.
