House Gothenland-Arenheim
Smaller Ealdormanship containing a large part of Western Norland. It was created in 642 when the two Earldoms of Gothenland and Arenheim were united by King Garth. The two earls had been at war for nearly twenty years. One day the king himself showed up with an army outclassing that of the two earls combined. After they settled for peace, Leidolf of Gothenland and Arnora of Arenheim married, fortifying the peace deal, and Leidolf subsequently became the first Ealdorman of Gothenland-Arenheim. Since then the ealdormen have repeatedly proven themselves in battle as excellent warriors and strategists. The heir to the ealdormanship traditionally holds the subsidiary title of Merkis of Stormark.
