King
Requirements
The applicable child of the existing King is generally promoted at the behest of the existing King. As such, there is no set age upon which a King gains their title. It is known, however, that this decision is not generally made on a whim, but is discussed beforehand with advisors.
It is written in The Constitution (Book I of The Sacred Texts) that a potential King may be promoted without the consent of the previous King if
- They gain the support of the advisors to the King, especially the Oracle
- They are a descendant of the original King
- The current King is either dead or is somehow proven incapable of efficient rule.
The only required attribute of the future King is that they be a descendant of the original King, King Romulus I. Both Male and Female are given the title of 'King' when they hold power. There are no preset line to the throne, and the King may approve anyone to
Appointment
When the previous King is deciding whether to give up his throne and promote the candidate, it is customary that this decision is discussed with and perhaps even recommended by the King's advisors; and it is considered common knowledge that the Oracle itself - The Kingdom's religious deity that is considered the embodiment of knowledge and wisdom - appears to the old King in order to grant their blessing.
