The Crossroads

The Crossroads is a free nation founded by members of the hunter's and adventurer's guilds as a place for free trade away from the Sylvian Imperium and the Clockwork Empire's ideals. This city is the hub for the now joint Hunters and Adventurer's guilds.   The culture of the Crossroads is unlike the stuffy isolationist ideals of the elves and the ridged power structures of the Empire. Rather the Crossroads is a city of free thinking and action. As such the culture here is rapidly evolving and is one of the few places where half-elves can find themselves at peace.   Those visiting the crossroads can find themselves at home in any number of bars and even the occasional casino where they can partake in a unique form of music developed by the half elven races called ragmatag.

Structure

Three Housed Democratic Republic. The people vote for representatives in two houses that work together to make laws and appoint members of a third house dedicated to the maintaining of a judicial system. The nation's army is entirely comprised of militias made up of different adventuring parties.

Public Agenda

The Crossroads works to maintain the personal freedoms of its people. They allow their citizens to trade freely with other kingdoms.

Assets

The Crossroads fights hard to maintain economic independence from their larger neighbors, producing enough resources on its own to keep afloat but happily trading for commodities from both the Empire and the Imperium

Demography and Population

The Crossroads population is made up of all sorts and types. Gnomes, Elves, Warforged, Illustrious, they all find homes at the Crossroads. However, the most common races in this city are dwarves, goliaths, halflings, and forest gnomes.
