Torrin's Stay

A large city on the eastern edge of the Godsland. It was defended on three sides by different natural barriers, the Deeplands, the mighty Korangee River, and the hunting ground of the Greatwurm Vermilok! Only the east was unprotected; too bad as in years passed the attackers came only from Valda, but since a strong front has been created with three, large, fortified watchtower, each manned by at least 25 Archers. This city was a place only the bold would venture.. a city that draws in many strange travelers, adventurers, and treasure hunters! The buildings are ramshackled, multicolored, with small makeshift paths and bridges, and alleys! Every which way, connecting everything. This also happens to be the final resting place of Torrin Widmark, Grand Inquisitor of the Shykeir Consortium. Though he was celebrated for his slaying of great evil across the land, he met his end in what was his most momentous victory, his sealing of Melkhior, Grand Lich of Valda.

Government

The Halls of Order: The main seat of the government in Torrin’s Stay, this is where all the official happenings start, and end. It is also the ‘Temple’ of the god of Structure, H1-476T, though he has no official temples, this is where any sort of worship for him is done by the higher-up members of the Shykeir Consortium. The building itself was a series of concentric circles, each with equally spaced archways, all in a perfect balance..of structure. The floor was all perfectly aligned stone tiles of alternating black and white to create a checkerboard appearance. At every archway, there was a stone statue of a Knight, though there were details in his body and armor that made him each time look more machine than man. There were 12 of these Knights around the innermost circle, and if you looked closely enough, each of them looked slightly different.   The government consists of 3 main bodies in this city.   The Council of Shykeir, a 12-strong Council meant to mimic the balance there-within the gods. They are all equals in the Council and they deal with most matters of the City.   The Grand Inquisitor is the man who is mostly a semi-religious figurehead but does have a certain amount of power. He helps make appearances, donates the money he makes to different causes in the city, and generally tries to help with the moral of the people. He also is supposed to head the charge when War breaks out, but it has been sometime since War.   The Pullers-of-Strings are a larger, but much less powerful group in the government. They help balance out the smaller disputes over land, territory, food, goods, and other things that the main parts of the government are unable to divert their time to. There are probably a few hundred of these people, but they are largely quiet about the true number of the Pullers-of-Strings. It is said 3 of them are in charge of delegating duties to the rest, they are known as the Puppetmasters, while the rest are simply the Marionettes. They wear clothing and masks to take the image of a wooden puppet, to keep their identities secret, they don’t want to let people get leverage on them in any sense of the word.   Besides these governing bodies, the Captain of the Guard, the leaders of the Merchants Guild, and even the Lord of the Assassin’s Guild all have their own, personal offices in the Halls of Order.   At the very center of the structure, in the middle of all the different circles, was the Tomb of Torrin Widmark, the greatest Hero the Shykeir Consortium has seen.

Assets

The Great Torrin's Bank: The Great Torrin Bank is a bronze cast brick building with a gated in fence around it standing just over two stories. The inside lobby has a rope fenced in area for people to waiting in line for business. However the there are three large pools in the lobby area which are fenced off and guarded, inside these pools are dire aboleth great white sharks who also have steampunk cybernetic implants over the right eye which shoots laser beams. Above these pools, on the ceiling are the vaults, which are accessed by workers walking up immovable rods along the wall to them during the day. At night, the rods are removed and a crystal is lowered into each of the pools - only one of them is the correct crystal, the correct crystal engulfs the entire bank in a antimagic field preventing the use of spells or scrying. It is rumored that dragons rest inside of the vaults by night as well.   The Arena: Built almost 200 years ago, this fountain at the old town center is here to celebrate the leaders who lead by being a great example for all and changed the world for the better. Its position within this community is meant to represent the blossoming of both life and the community here throughout all periods of time.   It was designed by a young artist who marvelously captured the people's love of the torrin's stay and used an intricate style to convey her vision in this piece of art. Every element was crafted and created with high quality materials from local suppliers, ensuring this monument will uphold local values for generations to come.   The old stone square itself has been converted into an open ceiling arena - that being there is no ceiling. Rather than enter through the ground floor, there are eight walkways leading to the upper walks midway through the eight story ivory marble stadium. It seems to easily be capable of seating two thousand people at a time to watch spectacles. In the center of the arena is a large pit, surrounded by walls, as well as six magical black obelisks which are used to alter the environment. There are four great gates - in which humanoids are brought in from the north/south with beasts being brought in from east/west walked in from the ground floor.
