Toyland Creatures

Plush Chimaera: Plush chimaeras are vaguely similar to normal plushies, but are by far larger, stronger, and much more vicious. Plush chimaeras are a nightmare sewn together from various plushies, which can have any possible and impossible shape. They prefer to chase other plushies, but they are not necessarily picky. Despite their bestial nature, they are instinctively able to heal and / or strengthen their bodies by sewing around them, for which they often use the parts of defeated opponents. Rumors suggest that this is how they create others of their kind. Most plush chimaera are solitary or form small packs, led by the strongest chimaera among them. They are often found in the wildest and most remote parts of Toyland.   ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________   Stuffed Animals: In addition to the living, sentient plushies, inhabited by an endless number of different, wild stuffed animals. They are more or less similar in size and appearance to normal animals and behave more or less accordingly. Some of them are dangerous, others trusting or just plain annoying. Soft toys are tamed by the residents of Toyland for various reasons, as pets, companions or work animals.   ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________   Toy Golem: The denizens of Toyland have their own strange brand of magic and technology. One of the creations of these arts are the toy golems, artificial beings created by the toymakers, cobbled together from the materials of toyland and given a semblance of life. Golems can vary greatly in shape and size, depending on the desires of their builder. Strong and with endless stamina, however, they are mindless and without wills of their own, existing only to serve their master and carry out their bidding. They have no imagination and take everything literally, so one should be very careful when formulating their commands. Once a golem has a task, it will go about it undeterred, and there are tales of ancient golems still completing their tasks long after their master is gone. While most golems are (or appear to be) mindless, rumors of intelligent and sentient specimens of their kind continue to circulate, whether these are possessed or extremely advanced golems is unknown.   Variants:   Block Golem: Commonly found in Blockland, Block Golems are typically large, bulky humanoids constructed from the area's brightly colored blocks. The modular nature of their bodies makes them easy to assemble and rebuild. More advanced golems are said to be able to rebuild themselves.   Clay Golem: Composed of colorful clay, Clay Golems are the most agile and flexible of the toy golems. They may not be as strong as other golems, but their squishy nature makes them highly versatile and difficult to defeat permanently.   ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________   Rocking Horse: One of the countless toy animals found throughout Toyland. Rocking horses are reminiscent of their not-so-living, earthly counterparts, but are far larger, livelier, and far more mobile. Most of them appear to be made of wood, but there are regional variants made of other materials. Rocking horses behave much like regular horses and are relatively harmless, but can violently bite and kick if provoked or frightened. They are often tamed by the inhabitants of Toyland as mounts or beasts of burden.   Variants:   Dread Rocking Horse: A larger, more powerful, and far more nasty variant found primarily in the darkest places in Toyland. They resemble their smaller relatives but have a far more vicious appearance. Loners, they also possess a cruel, sadistic temperament. They gladly attack those they see as weak or worthless. Only the most powerful and evil denizens of Toyland would dream of taming a Dread Rocking Horse mount, and fewer still succeed.   ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________   Lesser Bouncymoth: Lesser Bouncymoths are rare legendary beasts that can be found sporadically on the inflatable side of Toyland. Their exact origins are unknown, but the stories say they are the smaller descendants of the original Bouncymoth, or denizens of Toyland who were transformed into this form by a blessing from the Bouncymoth. They appear as enormous, four-legged, inflatable versions of different animals or a mix of different animals. While they don't reach the titanic size of the real Bouncymoth, they are still extremely large. Often dormant lesser bouncymoths (they are known for long periods of sleep) are mistaken for parts of the landscape, until they awaken, of course. Lesser Bouncymoths are extremely playful and love to frolic with the smaller denizens of Toyland (whether the denizens want it or not). They are also known to devour smaller creatures, enjoying the feeling of scurrying creatures inside. Being eaten by a Lesser Bouncymon is not fatal but getting out of the labyrinthine stomach of a Lesser Bouncymoth isn't easy. However, Rumor has it that within a lesser bouncymoth lie fabulous treasures and legendary artifacts, ready to be looted by those brave enough to seek them out. They are also powerful protectors of toyland (or at least the inflatable part).   ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________   Toy Dinosaurs: Toy dinosaurs are not quite as widespread as toy animals, but are still relatively common in toyland. Similar to toy animals, toy dinosaurs are modeled after real dinosaurs and come in a variety of shapes. Although there are smaller forms, most of them are quite large. Like toy animals, toy dinosaurs sometimes behave like real dinosaurs, sometimes dangerous, sometimes playful. Some denizens of Toyland tame these colorful beasts as pets, companions, or workhorses.   Variants:   Stuffed dinosaurs: Toy dinosaurs in the plush part of the toy land are reminiscent of gigantic stuffed animals whose shape only vaguely resembles dinosaurs. Most of them can be found in time-forgotten valleys or dense unexplored plush jungles. Among them there are both gentle and more aggressive types, but in general they are rather playful.   Inflatable Dinosaurs: Far more numerous and easier to find are the inflatable land's rubbery toy dinosaurs. From the endless depths of the dark blue seas, to the hidden forests and valleys of the rolling hills, to the endless skies above, there is no habitat they have not conquered. Like other inflatable toys, they have a tough, resilient body that is relatively light in weight but surprisingly strong.   ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________   Inflatable Kraken: Rare legendary beasts from the deep blue sea, somewhat the aquatic counterpart of the Bouncymoth. They are considered the favored servants of the Floatyatahn, meeting one of them is a great honor, but mostly bad luck. Especially when you are the reason the Kraken appears. Inflatable Kraken appear as an inflatable, rubbery squid or octopus, whose colossal size is second only to their master, the Floatyatahn. Inflatable karaken prefer the mysterious shallows of the deep, blue sea and rarely come to the surface, mostly just to carry out their master's errands. In the rarest cases, curiosity or boredom also cause an Kraken to appear. They are also surprisingly intelligent and quite willing to negotiate, but their cunning tends to give them the upper hand most of the time. Like its land-based counterpart, its inner core is a rubbery maze full of false paths, traps, and other strange surprises. But it's also said to be full of treasure and secrets, enticing enough for some to be eaten by a giant, inflatable Kraken. However, the octopus does not give away its treasures lightly, getting into an octopus is far easier than getting out.   ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
