Goldguard

Goldguard is a place that sits on the very edge of the influence of The Trithian Dynasty. It is therefore a fairly heavily guarded place, and it holds a large force of crownsguard. It is located in a valley only a kilometre away from the official border and around 70% of the town is taken up by barracks and other militaristic buildings like armouries, training facilities & supply storage. All guards that are deployed at Goldguard have a brass badge with a gold engraving of a sword and a shield. Outsiders might consider to quite spartan with it being only built for housing members of the army.

The town functions as a home base for those deployed at the border, in addition to the guards of neighbouring mines. Most of the population is human, with small populations of dwarves, elves and goliaths.

Notable Inhabitants

Ulfrik Tekemzi (Blademaster Tekemzi). He is a middle-aged human, aged 44 and is in charge of ammunitions and other battle-related supplies such as arrows, bolts and weapons). He also inspects any caravan that passes through Goldguard, especially if the wares are to be sold there. He's usually in a good mood and welcomes the characters for taking care of the caravan this far.
Alyss Fogmoon (General Fogmoon). Young female wood-elf, in her early 200s and is in charge of the military units there. She would be first in command in case the entirety of the garrison would be needed. She originally comes from the town of Thyolin and has quickly risen through the ranks of the dynasty. She is known for her skills in marksmanship and is said to be a master with her bow. Got promoted to General after commanding her battalion expertly against giant campaigns that struck around the Vauxi mountains.

Notable Buildings

Forge and Fabricate

This forge is owned by the male dwarf Garmus Stronghorn. Always seem to be angry but never tells anyone why, the actual reason why is that his wife left him for someone else. He channels his grief by taking out his anger in other people. He does however still sell very well crafted weapons and armour. Most of them are made out of steel and some are silvered(or he can silver them, although it would take a while). He also has an adamantine greataxe on display, which he will sell for 550 GP.

The Wooden Bear

This tavern is one of the few places that is open for visitors.

Natural Resources

Goldguard was originally surrounded by forests but now the treeline starts a couple of hundred meters outside the wall.
