The Eleven Seas is home to a young, dangerous world, and the people living on its Eight Great Isles have only recently begun to travel and communicate across the seas in the last few hundred years. Each region has prospered under its isolated culture, and those that dedicate their life to travel are the only bridges between these locations. Now is an age of exploration, of expansion, and of adventure. Dragonbeard, the most fearsome pirate to rule these seas has vanished, leaving a power vacuum among the lawful and the lawless as an increasing number of vessels set out in search of the treasure he amassed and secluded due to an insatiable paranoia. In the West, political and religious conflict abound, but the eastern waters are still an unclaimed wild ruled by savage beasts and fearsome ghosts.
