Bugbears, once human, have become monstrous creatures as a result of their dark pacts with Jhebbal Sag, the god of beasts. Long ago, these humans delved into forbidden rituals seeking power and dominance over the wilds. In their hubris, they invoked the wrath of Jhebbal Sag, who cursed them to embody the ferocity and primal instincts of the beasts they sought to control. Covered in coarse hair and with pointed teeth, bugbears now roam the untamed regions of Hyboria, lurking in the shadows and striking fear into the hearts of travelers. Though formidable in build, they are known for their stealth and cunning, often ambushing their prey with deadly precision. Their association with Jhebbal Sag has granted them an affinity with the natural world, allowing them to navigate dense forests and rugged terrain with ease. However, their once-human minds have been twisted by the curse, driving them to live as savage predators, forever bound to the will of their bestial deity.
