Session V: The Enemy Reveals Itself Report

General Summary

We pick up where we last left of; in a hag's lair, Fishion tied to a torture rack, surrounded by Birch Witches. The reanimated giant Melgan Cloudroamer had just shambeled up the stairs. Medved, Maeve, Ramsteed and Crimshaw all move in on the Birch Witches. Medved and Crimshaw lead the attack, picking one of them to tag team against. Ramsteed locks into combat in order to save Fishion. He dukes it out against a Birch Witch in a brawl that he ends up on top against. Maeve has her best encounter yet but I don't believe she killed anyone. They defeat the Birch Witches and move on to attack the corpse of Melgan. The party makes easy work of the giant. They slowly dismember him until he can only attack with his head. He proved to be lousy and ineffective for this fight. The party didn't think to inspect the collection of couldrens in the cavern that could be able to be lit until I nudged them toward it. They ordered Crimshaw to investigate the strange potions, and he ended up throwing a bomb at them. The encounter ended as they blew up what remained of the giant and collapsed the chambed in the cave with the explosion. With fishion saved and Sadie seemingly trapped under ground, the group could head back to camp. The group leveled up (LVL 4) and enjoy a peacful journy back. They report the information back to Grorr and allow Medved to exlain the events to her. Due to his low intelligence, his story was all jumbled and told in a very sloppy manner. Grorr cuts him off by bellowing a "that's enough. I believe you." They decide to move forward toward Ona Lenora. Along the way, Crimshaw smiles as he recounts the journeys the Order of Courage used to go on. He recounted the tale of the invasion of Renoa and the victory that earned Ramsteed the favor of Grorr. As the warband presses forward, they come across Evangeline, The First Sword of the Thorn and Brotherhood archers Hurin and Istari. They have strung up some hobgoblins and are about to use them as target practice. Grorr gets angry at the sight of her people being killed for sport and confronts the trio. The player characters realize that these hobgoblins aren't any friend of Grorr's. In fact, they were torturing Grorr's sworn enemies. The three hobgoblins were caught the previous night poking around the camp. They were looking to steal rations as well as were marking off on their map where the Brotherhood's camp was. When they were captured, a map with two markings was retrieved. The group interrogates the hobgoblins. Medved and Ramsteed attempt to take the violent approach. This proves ineffective, as the only thing they recieved from their prisoners was disrespect. Mave steps forward and asks the first hobgoblin nicely what the second marking was. The prisoner was more than happy to obligue her now that she's actually being kind. "Thank you for being nice about it," he said as his eyes flicked to the side to look at Ramsteed and Medved. Hiron stepped back and fired an arrow into the belly of the first hobgoblin. Ram pulled his hammer back and slammed the prisoner in the head and followed through that all three prisoner's heads turned into a bloody, chunky paste like substance. Medved flirted with Evangeline, which didn't work too much to his advantage. He mentioned helping her people fight off the warband that seemed to be targetting them. The party was brought to the camp of the Brotherhood of Thorns. Grorr set up an extension next to the camp, and the party went shopping before they settled down to eat, make merry and rest for the night.

Notes

Plotline Idea: A member of the party, Medved I believe it was, mentioned helping the elves snuff out the hobgoblin hunting party that has been pokinig around their camp. This gave me an idea for a side plot including Evangeline, Hurin and Istari. Goal: Write up the vendors and item lists Goal: Write up the created characters and articles
