The Great Consciousness makes a decision...

At the beginning of recorded time, there was the Great Consciousness, 2 omnipotent beings with powers beyond imagination. Bored, Dimas, The Cosmic Light, and Fos, the Cosmic Darkness, came together to create the Earthly Realm, a plane of existence within the Aether. For a time, The Great Consciousness was content with what they’d created, occasionally descending down to see the lives of the mortals who they’d given life and existence to. But as time moved forward, conflicts arose between the mortals. Though dissatisfied with their creations, the Great Consciousness couldn’t agree on how to handle the mortal issues without direct intervention, something they wanted to avoid at all costs. To solve this issue, from the soul of the Earthly Realm itself they they created four divine avatars, beings whose personal connection to the world would keep it in balance as they acted as the caregivers to the many mortal races that inhabited it: In the North, Jyohn, the God of Earth, would rule the Gigantes and to the south, Visha, the God of Wind, would rule over the Navatu people. To the west ruled Melusine, the Goddess of Water and goddess to the Nereids. Finally, to the east was Huron, the God of Fire who ruled over the Homon. For many centuries, The Great Consciousness watched as the Earthly Realm thrived. This was until the Homon suddenly started war across the Earthly Realm, corrupted by Huron’s fire to wage war. The other races fought back and together they defeated the Homon forces, but at the great loss of life. The people of the Earthly Realm were forever changed, and the Great Consciousness was not pleased with this. Counting this “experiment” as a loss, the Great Consciousness wiped the Earthly Realm and all who inhabited it from existence in an instant. When the next incarnation of the Earthly Realm was created and the avatars were once more brought into being, Huron was held within the core of the earthly realm. The Great Consciousness decided his power too much for the homon and as a result he would remain locked below the surface. Huron, not retaining the memories of his past life, is unable to understand why he’s treated like this and grew to hate and detest the surface world and his creators. It would not be for many years that he’d have a chance for revenge.   For a time, the new reincarnation of the Earthly Realm enjoyed peace and prosperity as the races of the land lived their lives to the fullest. To watch the people from above, the Great Consciousness creature the Icarus, winged people who they would commune with on a regular basis as the surveyors of the world. Out of nowhere however, an unknown cosmic presence was felt from within the Earthly Realm. Horrifying in nature, this mysterious presence was brief, for as suddenly as it had appeared, it vanished. Left behind was Huron’s empty prison, broken open, the god of fire nowhere to be seen. The other divine avatars were immediately made aware of this, their fellow god’s disappearance seemingly leaving a hole in the balance of the Earthly Realm and slowly but surely, a mystifying sense of unease began to wash over the realm. It wouldn’t be for a few more years, that the horror of what had transpired would come into fruition.
