The Durin's Day Chronicles

A martial, near-future retelling of The Hobbit.   You will find no dwarves here, though Durin's folk still wander Middle Earth seeking refuge. They are bitter and aching, in body and soul, and they burn to reclaim what was stolen from them.   There are no hobbits to be found in District Shire, either, though it does shelter a gentle folk. Life within its borders is easy and plentiful, and yet there is one here who quakes at the mere mention of a mountain and what treasures lie beneath.   And there are no dragons to be found in this realm, fair reader - nor elves, nor wizards, nor magic rings. Instead, you will find fear and anger and passion.
