The Cleansing

The Cleansing was the eradication of the many races of Fradris, committed by the Humans. The Cleansing was began after there was a surge of crimes being committed in the large cities of Fradris. These includes murder, kidnappings and robberies. Outraged, the human majority of Fradris, claimed it was the Elves. The Elves of Fradris were always a minority, with their largest numbers at any time being around 100,000+. The Cleansing lasted for an entire decade, taking the lives of 70,000 elves and thousands of dwarves, another minority (only having 40,000 at any time). Civilians and soldiers alike would storm into the slums of big cities and towns and would kidnap the Elves and Dwarves of the communities, and would proceed to kill them. The Cleansing started in 1150, and ended in 1160. The Cleansing was protested by the humans themselves, as the other races were too scared to be seen. The Cleansing was stopped after a government building in Fradris City was burned down with everyone inside, by the protesters. The Elven population now sits at 10,000. Most still hide, mainly in the forests of Fradris. The Dwarves were made entirely extinct.
