Satan is the Demon's version of a King. the heirarchy of the demons is a confusing one, but usually the satan is the strongest member of the generation rather than the oldest, this is usually found by combat tests. each child would fight each other to find out who is the strongest and deserves to be the new lord of "Hell" as you mortals know it.

The new Satan now can sit in the Chair of Lords, when he sits in this chair, he is officially the new Lord of "Hell"
