Life, Failure / Mishap
New ship gets wrecked, but all lives and assets recovered
After somewhat rashly agreeing to commission a Light Foamcutter for adventurer use, its maiden voyage ended in near catastrophe. Merely hours after setting sail, we lost signal from its engine. They'd been marooned on Little Dorbard by the fierce currents running between the bigger Dorbards, it seemed.
Protocol for asset recovery was clear, and the AV detachment was pressed into service to recover the ship and look for survivors—a signal from a wind stave indicated as such. To my immense relief, both the vessel and crew were fully recovered. I have made the case for outfitting it with a stronger propulsion system.
