Antillia

"Antillia. Capitol city of Atlantis. Back home, they had many tales about it. My father said that it sits at the center of the world. Nomad elders once told me and the other village children that the city rested atop a floating slab of earth. A badlands witch I once met claimed to have lived in the city, and said that gods walked the streets. I came here to see those wonders, but all turned out to be false. I stayed for the true wonders."
- Mialy Ngolo, Edenite student at the Spire of Knowledge

Government

Within the Prime Spire of the city sits The Circle, a group of the seven most powerful wizards who discuss and orchestrate the workings of the city and the island of Atlantis as a whole. Each of the seven are Masters of a given division: The Masters of War, Trade, Intrigue, Diplomacy, Knowledge, Finance, and Justice. Every year, The Circle grants one member the rank of Prime Master to serve as head of state.   When positions are vacant, the remaining wizards cast votes to bring successors into The Circle.

Industry & Trade

"Quintessence and aether are the key to Atlantis' success. Through gems of quintessence mined in the mountains, a trained wizard can harness the full power of the ambient aether and weave it into stronger spells than other realms."
- Nymina Elaran, a hopeful wizard-applicant from Alfheim

Infrastructure

Much of the city's power is generated by waterwheels, constantly spinning under the flow of the numerous waterfalls near the city.   The Ironrail allows for quick transport all across the city. It functions via a combination of electricity (generated by the waterwheels), magnetism, and magic. Secrets about this advanced technology are HEAVILY guarded.

History

Antilla was the birthplace of Atlantis as it is now known. It was here that the first Circle rose up to cast off the Lemurian invaders, where the miner H'ebe first discovered quintessence, and where Malaqur the Esteemed first developed the things that would be Atlantis's doom...

Geography

Antillia rests on the Andrul Coast, on the East side of the Island.
