The Darkest Dawn
8th of January, 3748
18 years ago, the corruption came west from the shattered lands, spreading and infecting any creature it could, creating twisted monsters made of pure darkness. Despite the chaos and horror of this curse, some cities survived and became safe havens from the Corruption. While some were established in great cities like Druyer, Aramore, and Krazod Dul, others guarded small towns like Ext or Axon.
Over time, people began to theorize about the origin of the corruption. The Vadorians believed it was a curse created by their undead ruler, Obrith the Undying, as a punishment for the failure of their empire. Others believed it was divine retribution for the sins of the world. Cults and governments have been built around these theories, with some taking control of safe havens. Some of these groups, like the Order of the Forsaken, have become authoritarian and heretical, imposing rules that align with their faith, at the cost of their people's freedoms. Because of this, some safe havens have become as dangerous as the wilds.
