The Gremlin King

The absolute ruler of the labyrinthine, great Scrapyard and one of the most enigmatic deities of dark utopia. While the entity is well-known among most denizens of Dark Utopia, few are aware of its power and true nature (not even if the Gremlin King is actually a "he"). Until now, the ruler of the great scrapyard has never been seen outside his realm, it is not known whether the gremlin king's power is confined to his domain or if he simply prefers to remain within his realm. Within his realm, however, he is all but allmighty. Nearly omnipresent and able to control and alter space, time, and the structure of his realm at will. The throne of the Gremlin King is a great city of metal and junk (more like a magnificent castle on the outskirts of town), hidden in the depths of the great scrapyard and known as the Gremlin City. His subjects are the outcasts, exiles and unloved of the bordering realms of heavy metal and the NeverEverland. The Gremlin King seems to have a soft side for such misfits, granting them protection and habitat (as long as they bow to his authority, of course). The gremlin king's relationship with the world outside his realm is quite complicated. He himself seems to have little interest in the outside world, but since his realm is a barrier between the lands of Heavy Metal and the NeverEverland, he is happy to make travelers pay for safe passage through his realm. The king mostly negotiates with outsiders only through his preferred servants and what the king ultimately demands for the crossing of his realm varies with his whims. Sometimes it's money or treasure, sometimes goods from other countries, and sometimes it's favors that the king will ask for at a later time. On the whole, the Gremlin King isn't particularly popular outside of his realm, but because he prefers to keep to himself, the other rulers see him as a lesser evil.
