The Dark Forest

This story takes place on Earth, but with slight changes. Wizards exist and are living in secret to make sure mortals don’t kill each other. Mythical Creatures exist, but only under the protection of a wizard to hid them. Little note, this world is meant for a comic I starting this summer, and will be posted on my Instagram (gingrrcatdraws)   Wizards play a big part of the story. The story starts with Merlin, who was born in 1137. According to some research on him, I found out he is the son of a demon and a mortal women. Upon birth, he was baptized immediately. I started to play off of that when creating this world. Merlin has two sons, William, the caring and gentle one, and Henry, the jelous and spiteful one (guess which one is more demon). Both went on to have their own families; William with his son Astrid, and Henry with his daughter Venus. The children were born on the same day, and were then raised as twins.   Henry made a deal with a demon to protect Venus, which included killing his brother. He couldn’t do it, so he pretended to miss and shot a castle, and it immediately bust into flames (read the myth Merlan’s Son and the Fire for details). Henry was killed in front of Venus before she was taken down into the underworld to study to be a Dark Witch. William never saved the royal family, so he has been in hiding ever since. Astrid was sent to America to live with Merlin and train under him.
