Savaton

Savaton is an island chain full of well-made buildings and massive cities. The chain is also known for its esteemed schools of magic and many of the sultans in the chain pride themselves at being excellent teachers of magic and otherwise. However the chain having an excessive amount of spellcasters comes with its major drawbacks. Major parts of the island are destroyed or filled with magically created blast zones. Intelligence is highly revered in culture of Savaton and people with high intelligence are often considered superior to those with lower ones. As such the more power a person in Savaton has, it's likely they got to that position by being smarter than all of their peers or opponents. There are four major types of magic schools an aspiring wizard can attend in Savaton. The first type is likely where most wizards will go to learn magic in Savaton. Sheer magic schools are schools that teach people how to use magic, and nothing more. If you're looking to become someone who uses spells exclusively for power then sheer magic schools are the places to attend. Battlemagic schools are schools that teach it's attendants how to become impressive users of the weapon of their choice, as well as weave magic into their fighting to create a deadly combination of sword and spell. Magic forge schools are schools that teach its attendants how to craft and use various magical items, either to sell them for a business or use them in combat. Finally raw magic schools are schools that teach the dangerous arts of raw magic, these schools only have a small amount of attendants, and a very high mortality rate.

Geography

Savaton is a relatively large chain with islands that are spaced a decent amount apart. There are a total of 27 islandss across the enite chain, which are connected with magical bridges and you can also find portals across the chain allowing for easy and quick movement across the island. Savaton has a few high points scattered about, but almost all of it is lowland. A lot of this lowland has been industrialized, thus leading to a lack of forests or plains across the island. The coastline of this island is elevated about 30 ft up, and there are magical stairs that lead from the top of the island to the bottom.

Fauna & Flora

There aren't many kinds of flora and fauna in the small forests of Savaton, which are home to many magically altered creatures and plants, the unfortunate aftermath of many experiments gone wrong(Or even gone right.). Inside the forests are few amounts of trees, but there are many kinds of plants that have adapted to the constant blasts that occur across the forests. These are mostly the same species you would find anywhere else, but some have developed a few fireproof properties after adapting to their surroundings. Animals inside the forests are mostly normal, though there are a few magically affected species that are roaming about as well. Badgers and snakes are the most common animals in the forest, though there a wide variety of species in there as well.

Natural Resources

Savaton doesn't have a lot of natural resources. Most of the money they make comes form the many schools of magic scattered across the town, though there are a few natural resources that can be found across the chain. There are a few ores found in a few natural mines of Savaton, some of which have become magically altered in some way. There are also a few different kinds of bark that can be harvested and sold for money.

History

Savaton was discovered by a lonely magic professor named Dimvari Breezes, who was sailing across the sea after being rejected by the love of her life, whom she quit her job of teaching to pursue. Soon she discovered Savaton, and with nothing else for her back at her home, decided to start living there. However she needed money, and soon began offering advanced magic courses to people who would come visit her(She was an extremely good teacher.), and soon many other wizards came to the developing chain to see if they could start their own business there, hoping to piggyback off of Dimvari's success. Fast forward about a decade and now the island is what it is today, filled with many different magical schools and constantly offering teaching to any young student who can afford it.
Savaton is an extremely diverse chain. All different cultures come from across the Crammeoron to experience the schools of magic and learn all kinds of spells and magical trinkets. The most common race across the chain comes out to gnomes, though humans, tieflings, dwarves, and goblins are also in abundance in the chain. The crime rate for Savaton is also very low, because doing any sort of major transgression means not being able to enroll in a magic school, which is what almost all of the people in the chain are there for.
