Orowood

When the chain of Orowood was originally discovered, the explorers found that almost all of the islands had been overrun with a thick forest which must have been formed after the islands had come together to form a chain. There aren’t many full towns or cities, most of them are small villages consisting of straw huts and tepees. Across all of the islands on the chain are one kinds of tree that has completely overrun the entire island, called Icreech. These trees are so large and thick that some of them are forced to twist onto the ground, which is what creates natural pathways between the islands in the chain. Some of the locals say that Icreech trees have healing properties and soothe the mind when you're around them, but no one has been able to prove that they have anything of the sort. Orowood only has one major town, call Gramsby, which is built on top of a tangle of Icreech trees. Orowood, despite not having much industrialization is not a poor chain at all. Icreech bark can many residents of Orowood a lot of money, it can be used in armor or weapons, building, and there is also a tasty syrup inside most of the trees, which can be used in soups or as a condiment.

Geography

Orowood is a large chain with the islands spaces somewhat far apart. Almost all of the land is overrun by hundreds thick trees which snake around the land and reach up to about 100 ft in the air. There are 32 islands in the chain in total, all of them connected by these massive trees. There aren't many patches of open land in Orowood, and the few of them have mostly had small huts built on the. There are many areas of high ground in Orowood, many steep hills, naturally made plateaus, and even a few mountains scattered around the chain. All of these geographic features have also been overrun by the Icreech trees as well, making many of them hard to impossible to scale.

Fauna & Flora

Besides the Iceech trees, there are a many different kinda of flora and fauna in the forests of Orowood. There are a lot of flowers growing on many of the Iceech trees, though none of them are poisonous or harmful. There are also many animals that find their home in some of the natural nooks of the Iceech trees, though the common creatures to find in the forests are monkeys.

Natural Resources

The bark of Iceech trees can be used to make lots of different kinds of wooden armor and weapons, and sells for a decently high amount. There are also many kinds of meats from the various animals in the forest, the most popular is tiger and pork. Finally the most sought after natural resource of Orowood is the syrup that comes from the Iceech trees, which is considered a delicacy in many places.

History

Orowood was discovered by a half-orc named Atagash. Atagash was training to become a biologist and was on his way to attend an overseas college for the field, when he got lost and came across Orowood. In a heartbeat decision, Atagsh decided to not go to the college, and instead study biology at the mysterious new island he had found. He soon discovered the Iceech trees, and also learned a lot about their unique behavior. Soon many other people began coming to Orowood to look at it's unique forests and eventually a civilization was born there.
Orowood is a very diverse chain, many people come to see the off sight of the Iceech trees for themselves. The most common race is high elves, with humans and half-elves also coming in a close second and third.
