Yarrabrudd
Yarrabrudd, literally meaning Yarra's Bridge, has its border just a mile from the shore of Lake Gravann, over which the eponymous bridge stretches. In -135, Queen Yarra of Gravvos, what would later be subsumed into Eschen, and subsequently Fjarda, ordered the construction of the bridge to ease the trade and pilgrimage into Skalbaard. The town is now home to an important Skal temple, the Vordenskjaal, where many pilgrims still come to meditate before making the hard journey across the Gravann and into Skalbaard, on their way north toward the mountains of Hella. Of course, in modern times it is not only pilgrims who have business in Skalbaard, and more than one bridge now spans the Gravann, both to ease the flow of traffic, both on foot or by carriage, and also to protect the sanctity of Yarrabrudd. Many believe the old bridge is the same as the one Yarra herself had built - certainly this is the prevailing belief disseminated by the city - though independent researchers speculate that the old bridge collapsed some six or seven hundred years ago, and may even have been located further north than the current bridge.
