Elkshorren
Elkshorren was recently announced by Arven Traveller's Digest as the "most cheerful town Fjarda has to offer, if not the most pleasing, if one prefers aesthetics over taste". The city's fame derives from its legacy as the staunchest producer of whiskey, ale and mead in all of Arvendell. The surrounding meadows are certainly more seemly than the city itself, built out of sandstone and grey-brick from local clay deposits. The same factor that turns the clay grey is what makes the region so abundant in life, as igneous sediment carried down the Vörssre disseminates into and fertilises the soil. The breweries are also known to throw foul-smelling vapours into the air, which get caught in the valley during westerly winds. The fertile soil is perfect for the growing of hops, barley, wheat, rye and other cereals, and the meadows (among which are far more visually pleasing villages and hamlets), make for an excellent environment of beekeeping. Whether the Arven Traveller's Digest falls into a trap of negatively stereotyping the Arven for an Eos audience, it is certainly true that the people of Elkshorren have a ritualistic proclivity to sample their own products in spring, summer and harvest festivals.
