Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Atrax is the perfect specimen of a barbarian soldier. He bears the discipline and training of a Trepan legionnaire while having the physique of a Crixan. That means he stands taller and is stronger than most of his century.

Body Features

Atrax was fairer than his centurion with fair skin and stocky frame. had a fairly narrow body and waist, though still well muscled. His body was cleanly shaven as Atrax takes great care of personal grooming.

Facial Features

The one hint of rebellion in Atrax can be found on his face. Going against regulations, he sports long blonde hair that falls past his shoulders and washed stiff with lime water. Along with that is the thick mustache sported above his lips. Beyond that is a clean, rough looking face.

Apparel & Accessories

Atrax has little in the way of accessories. He wears a traditional legion tunic along with chainmail. His only trophies are a pair of arm rings taken from a clan champion he slew.

Personal history

Atrax’s father had crossed over to the Trepan Empire long before and pledged his sword to the legion. By the time Atrax was born he was already a full citizen and the Bog Woods was a shadow of a memory to him.
Instead his life was formed in the Trepan Empire where most Crixan customs were as alien to him as the other natives. Eventually he would enlist in the legions. Though a citizen, his barbarian roots would serve to prevent him from joining the First Cohort, relating him to the other non-segregated units.
He would eventually rise to the rank of optio, serving under Centurion Eliana Amora.

Intellectual Characteristics

Atrax was not as well-educated as many officers, though he can read and write, he had little formal schooling. Instead, his talents were in survival skills such as the understanding of the forests and sharp senses.

In particular, he was known for making keen observations about the situation and can often understand what was happening.
While not stupid, Atrax was no tactician. He knew how to keep men in formation and how to swing a sword, but he struggled to formulate battle strategies.

Morality & Philosophy

Atrax was not too terribly concerned about morality, especially with his line of work, all that mattered to him was accomplishing the task at hand. When approached with a mission, he was cool and pragmatic, never questioning anything.
Instead he focused only on the immediate issues. He fought for the Trepans because he found them the less evil faction to serve. Yet he understood the corruption of its government and rather than fight it, simply sought to avoid getting involved.
That being said, Atrax is more than willing to engage in cruelties such as torture to get what he needed.

Taboos

Although not above torture and executions to accomplish a goal, Atrax took issue with the needless suffering of others. It was a major reason why he despised the Crixans because of their ritualistic torture of others for no tangible gain.

Atrax is highly observant and understanding of his surroundings. Although he does not say much, he always takes pains to understand the situation they are in and remains logical throughout. In some ways, he has a better understanding of situations than his officers.

Vices & Personality flaws

Although well aware of his surroundings, his aloof nature makes him usually unwilling to share his insights unless asked. His indifference in his job also makes him ill suited for diplomatic or humanitarian needs. Although he will perform his duty, he lacks the drive and empathy.
