The Knights Solaris
The Knights Solaris are renowned as an elite chapter of eldritch knights in service to the emperor.
Although their number has fluctuated over the years since their inception, they currently consist of a small number of officers, around 500 knights, and up to 200 squires (or knights-in-training). Before the elven invasion, however, they were well over 1,000 strong.
As the emperor's personal military force, the knights are typically dispatched to areas of the continent facing societal or political upheaval, as well as areas of the frontier deemed under threat from external foes. Certain major cities have chapter houses that can house a whole company (up to 100 knights), which can be used as a base of operations for any Knights Solaris in the region. The order's HQ is situated in Zaphiri, a stone's throw from the palace grounds of the emperor himself.
Recognised by the common folk for their tabards, surcoats and banners of golden-yellow, the presence of Knights Solaris can be seen as both a good and bad omen.
