Twentiethborn - Heaving Horns

Another rather large and tall set of Borns, is the Twentiethborn. Their faces are lightly formed from perhaps the face of a Firstborn with some features of that of a cow or bull depending on gender. Regardless both possess great goring horns on the sides of their heads of the color of bone. Fur can cover parts of their bodies but mainly remains at the legs. They possess hooved feet and are a very muscular bunch. They tend to be a bit short tempered genetically though, which is only enforced by their tendency to be larger, they end up usually in some fight either verbal or physical.   Pureblood
  • +1 Strength +1 Constitution
  • Brawler's Bastion: A pureblood's body ever toughens during a fight. Any time a pureblood's current health is reduced by a tenth they gain damage resistance to all damage equal to their proficiency modifier. They also gain temporary health equal to (Lost Health from Attack/4 rounded down x Constitution Modifier), this secondary ability can only be done (Proficiency Modifier) times before needing a short rest for half the uses or a long rest for all. The damage resistance gained is lost upon receiving any healing outside of healing from themselves or once a combat encounter is over.
  • Heavy Horns: A pureblood's horns are thick and tough though perhaps not the sharpest tool at their disposal. A heaving horn may as a bonus action choose to attack a creature their size or one size larger, making a strength based attack that they have proficiency in for (Proficiency Modifier/2)d6 + (Constitution Modifier or Strength Modifier) bludgeoning. The target must make a strength saving throw against a DC ((Strength Modifier or Constitution Modifier + Proficiency Modifier) x 2) or be pushed (Strength Modifier or Constitution Modifier) times five feet. This ability can be used (Constitution Modifier + Proficiency Modifier) times before needing a long rest.
  Halfblood
  • +1 Strength
  • Goring Gash: A halfblood's horns and body are by no means durable or forceful as that of a halfblood however they are far, far more sharp and threatening. A halfblood may make a finesse attack that they are proficient in with their horn for (Proficiency Modifier/2)d8 + (Strength Modifier or Dexterity Modifier) piercing. The target must then make a constitution saving throw against a DC (8 + Strength Modifier or Dexterity Modifier + Proficiency Modifier), if they fail they take (Proficiency Modifier)d4 + (Strength Modifier or Dexterity Modifier/2) bleeding for d(Proficiency Modifier x2) turns.
  • Seeing Red: Each time a halfblood takes serious damage from an attack or series of attacks in quick succession their anger grows into their own strength. Every tenth of their max health done in damage by one creature's actions causes a charge of anger to be held. Each charge of anger raises the halfblood's strength by two, and a total of (Proficiency Modifier) anger charges can be held. Any healing done by anyone or thing outside of the halfblood reduces their anger charges by one.
