Alzheimer

This is probably the most hard to cure illness in the galaxy. It is developed by those who have not had enough connections between the interior and the exterior of their brains (aka grey matter and white matter connections done by neuronal axons). There are some factors that have proven to increase or decrease the odds of suffering it.

Develop factors

  - Close minded or very shy people.   - Aged people   - People without a job   - Large or complicated neuronal connections.   - Low amount of interest about not esencial subjects.   - Depression, lack of faith, sadness.

Prevention factors

  - Curiosity, "thinking outside the box", creative people.   - Usual readers or any other type of daily entertainment consumers.   - Travelers or language learners.

Symptoms

The disease has 4 stages with undeterminated duration of or between them.   Stage 1: Start. At this moment, the disease starts to damage in a slow way the nervious system of the patient. This is unknown by its family or friends.   Stage 2: Noticing. This is the moment when someone starts thinking about the fact that the patient is acting more slowly that usual, or is more mentaly tired, or just dont remember the date, location, or name. Here is when the patient is detected to have the decease.   Stage 3: Severe. As always, no one even thinks about having this disease, until it is too late. Always, if a patient have not been detected to be ill before a considerable amount of time, brain damage can be severe, even if it is barely noticeable. At this point the patient is starting to be treated by medics.   Stage 4: Terminal. More than 9 out of 10 patients reach this stage, a stage when brain damage is unreversible into a point of barely staying alive by natural breathing because of severe damage. This stage can be the slowest, but the worst both for the patient but also for its loved ones. If the patient does not manage to cure before forgetting its name, the chances of surviving are almost inexistent.

Author's Notes

This disease is different in Earth and The Colossuss Galaxy; why? because I had a personal experience with it, and since fictional places are made to inspire or just to be an imaginary utopia, then I would rather preffer to remember it as it is described here instead of the real world version.
