Well of the Aether

Described as a well of untapped arcane powers, the Aether is a plane of existence where one's ability to control the elements is derived from. By the catalyst of an Whether it be a cantrip or a powerful spell, one must utilize their connection to the well to draw from its powers. The Aether in itself retains the four primary elements that are the foundations of the elemental that govern the nature of the world.   The concept and notion of the Aether are not well-known to modern mages at the time. Many have attempted to reach beyond the well to obtain powers beyond their comprehension. While many would fail, some would be changed into Genasis, others would be arcanely touched, and perhaps even for the briefest of moments, reach the bottom of the well itself.     The four primary elements and their respective planes that the Well of the Aether derives from are the following; Fire, Water, Earth, and Lightning. While there are a considerable amount of other planes of elements, such as the other two major planes and twelve minor planes, most of the energy that derives from the Aether is the primary four planes and elements.   These powers that dwell from the Aether surges into a manifestation of energy that a caster can tangibly utilize.   Whether it be by one's faith and blessing by a deity or patron, an innate ability to utilize the Aether to its own due to a bloodline, or one's intensive studies to comprehend it, as long as there is a connection to the well, a person can utilize its powers to cast spells.
