The Chalice

The Chalice, or Chalice as it is called by those that live on it, is a unique, setting fantasy setting that mixes inspiration from sources as wide as the World Folklore, The Geneforge Series, Buddhist Cosmology, and even 18th-century history. The world itself is not a sphere but as a name a chalice floating in the ether of space. Various forms of magic and pseudo-magic exist, though they are more ritualistic and less present than magic in other settings. Alongside this magic is firm and progressing technology and trade, with gunpowder being the norm instead of swords, armor, and archery. The technology on Chalice is most comparable to technology during the time of our Earth's 7 Years War, though there is some major difference as a result of the various species and bits of magic the do exist in the setting.   I plan on using this setting for my fantasy writing going forward, along with a setting for the tabletop game design I do. I look forward to seeing how Chalice itself and the projects around it evolve and grow, and I'm excited to go on the journey of worldbuilding with all of you.
