The Aaliinor

The Legend of the Aaliinor

A dark and empty common ground.

That beats its wings in night unbound.

There lies, in cold, the creature there.

The one locked up with hidden care.

The world is not yet ready for,

The emptiness within its core.

The good within, may ever shine,

But, if not, we're given nine.

Summary

Not much is known about the Aaliinor. But what we do know is that it is claimed to be a creature of mass destruction and fear. Those who claim to have seen the Aaliinor have described it as a hulking, massive beast who lurks within the Yallnor Forest.

But, as everyone knows, nothing can survive in the Yallnor Forest. The forest's terrible history made sure of that. But the question still arises, in all of my research: How do we know? What if there was a creature that could survive in the toxic, corrosive atmosphere of Yallnor? How would we know it even existed? And the answer is quite simple: We wouldn't.

So let's say that there is a creature of mass destruction who lives in Yallnor. The next question we must ask ourselves is: Can it escape? Imagine the death and destruction a creature that size could create. A creature that, according my research, is at least 50 Rols tall, and almost double the size in length.

The Aaliinor is claimed to have a body made of snake-like scales. Each one approximately 2 Callins in size. Depending on where you look, the Aaliinor is said to have large, great wings that can span up to 100 Linors. Other sources claim that it has no wings, but instead that it carries a magic unlike anything we've seen before. These sources claim that the Aaliinor's magic is powerful enough to bend reality itself. And yet other sources claim that the Aaliinor is a creature with no magic, no wings, nothing. Just an enormous lizard-like creature that doesn't mean any harm, whatsoever.

Although there are some people who claim that the Aaliinor does not have magic, I would still like to write about the magic the Aaliinor may possess. It is quite intriguing. The Aalinor is claimed to not only have reality-bending magic, magic that we can only dream of. But the more I've searched, the more I've found evidence that the Aaliinor has a magical aura that can go out several Linors. This aura is said to encase the entire Yallnor Forest. The aura itself is claimed to alter the environment inside of it according to the Aaliinor's subconscious emotional state. This could explain why the Yallnor Forest is now a desolate wasteland. But what emotions reflect the forest? What is the Aaliinor feeling right now? To answer that, I went to the Yallnor Forest and observed how I felt as I looked at it. I felt very sad, overwhelmingly so. But I also felt a much more subtle emotion, I felt hatred toward everyone. But there was still another emotion, a feeling really. One of not giving up. I was reminded of how far we've come. I was reminded of how amazing the human race was, we've advanced so far in what little time we have. It was an incredible experience. Except for the last thing I felt as I observed the forest. I felt powerless and weak. Maybe the Aaliinor is dying. Maybe its hatred will cause its emotional aura to expand, killing us all. We don't have enough information to know, though.

I continue my research, for now.

Historical Basis

The Aaliinor was first seen during the Battle of Kallon. No one really knows how it got here. Although many people have their suspicions. Some say it came from the far future when the Temporal Rifts first opened. Others say it came out of hiding to protect the lush Yallnor Forest.

But whatever the answer, I believe it saved us all, many times over. But the Aaliinor's heroic sacrifices soon faded from history. All that people remembered of the Aaliinor was its large terrifying shape. But no one remembered the truth. That's why I am here. To clarify the truth. The Aaliinor is our friend. It sacrificed itself to help us.

Think about it. How exactly did we win the First Temporal War? Because both, the Onylita and the Yinsolleen were losing. Who exactly won the war? I believe the Aalniior has an amazing gift. It is able to change how we think. It can not add or remove memories. But it can redirect which memories or thoughts our mind focuses on.

Which means that if my experiment goes to plan, at some point while I am writing this, I should suddenly change subject. But I believe that the Aaliinor needs our help. I think it is losing its power. I think that the Aaliinor is dying. So please, help it. If you read this without focusing on something else, that means my fears are true. I want you to find the Aaliinor and save him. I want you to save me. Please. Help me.

Variations & Mutation

The Aaliinor is a myth of a creature of immense power that, if it were to ever escape, could bring about another Temporal War...

The Aaliinor is a kind loving creature that helped us during the First Temporal War. If another Temporal War were to happen, the Aaliinor would surely help us again...

The Aaliinor is a huge, hulking dragon...

There are many variations on the common myth of the large, lizard-like creature that is known as the Aaliinor. There are so many different variations that have accumulated over the years that I can not even begin to scratch the surface. But the basis of the myth is always the same.

First seen during the Battle of Kallon, the Aaliinor is a creature of immense size and strength. Soon after the Aaliinor arrived, the First Temporal War began to come to a close. Although no one knows exactly how the First Temporal War ended, many believed it was due to the Aaliinor. But as time went on, people suddenly realized that if the Aaliinor became evil it could cause mass destruction. The people's thought of the Aaliinor being a hero and savior quickly changed into thoughts of fear and hatred.

Date of First Recording
The first recorded Aaliinor sighting was during the Battle of Kallon. Although some claim to have seen it even earlier than that.
