Moonfolk

"Many stories are told of the mystical beings known are Moonfolk. The great sages of the Ugai Monastic Order and Warrior Monks are all of this species and have apparently been sent by Ugahl himself to give unto us mortals Divine wisdom. My findings on the ancient rituals and temples of Ugai has led me back to these Moonfolk and what I have found is intriguing, yet terrifying. The Moonfolk possess a particular affinity for wisdom and in their studies of the universe and its secrets, they stumbled upon their own ability to connect with the Power of Creation. The ancient moonfolk, known as the Kandra Jana worshipped the Power of Creation as an entity. In an attempt to further connect with their creator, they gained access to limited forms of its insight. Limited, relative to Creation itself. In fact, these moonfolk have the ability to access the knowledge of the universe, beyond the gods, beyond the Infinite Chaos. Their desire to impart this knowledge onto others and their apathy to such mortal affairs, they created an empire and age of idealistic enslavement comparable to the Agruans. Moonfolk are exclusively children of Ugahl. They are celestials, but also mortals who live around Auclor and act as emissaries on Ugahl’s behalf. While the moon is up, they possess large amounts of Divine power and can access Creation to use gravity as a weapon.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Moonfolk are a slim, humanoid race, with a stature similar to that of an elf. They have white or off-white skin, usually a very light blue or bluish-grey. They have long flowing hair, the color the same as their skin, which is commonly tied up in elaborate hairstyles. Moonfolk come with one distinct feature; their two long, rabbit-like ears which fall down to their shoulders. They typically have some sort of ornate markings on their face (usually extending from the forehead), and ears. Some Moonfolk even have these markings along their body. They usually wear long, flowing, geisha-esque gowns that seem to float around them, enhancing their elegance.

Social Structure

Moonfolk are a close-knit society, who live in Ugai monasteries and palaces in the clouds among the Aviran. They care deeply about their families and their people, and most decisions they make are for the betterment of themselves, thus they can be very selfish and arrogant at times. Moonfolk who leave their skybound homes return quickly lest their home drifts away without them. Moonfolk pride on their knowledge and intellect, however, many can be capable and dextrous warriors in combat. Many Moonfolk are proficient in the Divine arts, the most powerful can even glimpse the fabric of existence.
