Agrua

Agrua is the Isle which the similarly named Empire originates from. The island holds hundreds of years of history from the first people to migrate to the island up to present day.

Geography

The Island is surrounded by rocky shores and steep cliffs. Fog smothers the areas at sea level. As you go inward, the land rises higher and the center of the island is filled with grassy fields and hill that span miles with dense forests sprinkled throughout. Rivers run from large lakes to the ocean. The cliffs and rough oceans around the island make it extremely difficult to navigate and survive the storms, but the Agruans have adapted with excellent boat building and remain fairly untouchable to other nations.

Fauna & Flora

Tall grasses, oak, elm and birch trees, deer, rats, hares, badgers, foxes, many species of bird, squirrels and bats. Supernatural fauna includes dullahan, banshee, wraiths, kelpies, the infernal, faeries, chimeras, goblins, bugbears, night elves, sirens, changelings, oceanic merfolk, hobs and merrow. Only quick, agile animals are able to live on the island, thanks to the onslaught of monsters and demons that roam the place. Because of them, humans on the island have adopted a human supremacy view, seeing nonhumans as abominations and deformed. When told that most of these monsters were children of the gods that ruled over them, many Agruans took to belief in Yahweh, who conquered these gods. Though, it would take, many decades before the Church of the Great Primordial God became the state religion.
