The Glittering Marshlands

The beautiful visage of decay

A dark land of overgrown swamplands, ancient and long forgotten secrets, and filled with deadly monsters of all kind. It is a wild and untamed land, where only the hardy or simply especially stubborn survive. Dark things are also rumored to haunt the glittering waters of the marshlands, whether they be fiend, undead, or otherwise.

Fauna & Flora

The animals and plants that live within the Marshlands are quite used its deadly environment, most of it being atleast hardy if it isn't inherently deadly. Swamp Wolves are the most common type of predator on land, though within the murky waters, all sorts of deadly creatures inhabit it. Primordial monsters swim within it, having not evolved since an age before even heaven. Mutant and foul creatures also haunt the bogs, affected by whatever dark force warped there previous forms to become the aberrations they have become. The despair and darkness of the Marshlands also creates all manner of undead, whether created or spawned from the harshness of living within the swamp.

Natural Resources

For the most part, the main resource that the Marshlands have are the skins of the local fauna and the fish gathered from the local fisheries along the coast. Hunters are looked upon highly and are also hired on as guides for others who have business in the marshlands. There is a small amount of fertile land that was created by halfling's who sought work under the reign of a previous lord, though recently they have fallen under the ownership of a rather ruthless, outside company. Most of what they create goes directly towards Munarch, but it is known that a brand of wine that originates from the farm is quite, atleast to the local tastes.
