Goryx

The Goryx is the common beast of burden found on the continent of Ken'Mora. Massive beasts of packed muscle, they are a familiar sight to any who travel the roads near farmland, often grazing in fields or lounging beneath trees.

Anatomy

Four legs- quadruped. Legs end in hooves Powerful muscular and bone structure Large head with four curved horns aligned with its eyes Four tendrils with clumps of hair at the ends, two at the neck and two at the backside covered in a layer of soft fur that thickens from the neck down for defense against predators and temperature

Goryx are capable of breeding every 7 months Gestation takes around 280 days 1-2 Goryx can be born into a litter

Social Structure

Live in herds, ranging from 10 to 30 members living on farmsteads. Wild herds, though rare, have been reported as having numbers into the 50s or 60s.   There is typically an alpha male among the herd that acts as the pathfinder and has first breeding rights with the females.   When drinking and eating, the alpha male, along with its seasonal mate and any young it has to eat or drink first, followed the rest of the herd.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

The Goryx are used for tilling farms and aid in hauling heavy loads long distances. They are also bred for their meat and fur for meals and clothing, acting as a primary source for both. Their dung is also used as fertilizer.
