The Black Gate Phenomenon

"There were piles of bodies everywhere you looked, they kept calling out kept screaming for help, the screams, the screams, blood stained the ground it, it covered everything. It was mayhem we were shoulder to shoulder in a melee with the enemy. One of there bastard sorcerers set four men ablaze next to me, i, the heat it hit my face i thought..... that i was going to die. The anger and fear it filled me, i pushed through the other panicking man and got to the caster as they set another couple men ablaze i just, i just shoved my bayonet strait into there skull, right through there eye. I saw the shock on her face as the blood poured down her cheek. And that's when it happened, this extremely loud noise of a gate or door opening piercing through the noises of the battlefield. Through the cries of the dying and injured. The light that shined through the smoke and powder clouds vanished in a second devoured by darkness. When i looked up i saw it this huge obsidian black gate slowly opening its doors. When the doors completely opened that moment of silences was deafening, and then the dead sighed or gasped. As that light their light was pulled from them, pulled from her. Hers was the most beautiful the largest and more defined, when all the light entered the gate the doors slammed and faded away." A soldiers recounting the events of the second day of the siege of the seeree capital during the War of Enlightenment or the Enlightenment wars .   During cataclysmic events or in times of mass death the many survivors have claimed to have seen a black gate opening overhead in the sky. It is believed that this is Dusk the god of death opening the entrance to their realm where they would usher the dead to there promised afterlife's. This phenomenon proves the existence of a soul or mortal pattern and that light that is released from the dead is believed to be the Chroma that all living things produce and carry in there souls.
