The Bay

Life in the cities of the bay had always been great. for thousands of years, the bay area residents lived happy and prosperous lives. the land was fertile, fields were green, and fruit trees had sweet seeds in them. at least that what the history books say. things have not been like that for hundreds of years. the stories of great halls and ancient civilizations pass from forgotten tales to legends and eventually myths. after the great earthquakes of the second area, the landscape of the regions was forever changed. a massive earthquake that caused complete cities to be cover with rocks, some are said to have sunk to the bottom of the ocean floor, only to be cover with more rock and sediment. after it, the wildfires came. people that stubbornly did not leave their homes simply became fuel to the fire. cities struggling to pick themselves from the rubble turned to ash. complete kingdoms caught on fire, the devil winds as are known fanned the flames. whole cities turned to ash from sunset to sunrise. smoke cover the land suffocating people as they tried to flee. the kingdom was broken, bandits and monsters plagued the land. the kingdom split into 5 families who held power for hundreds of years. it wasn't until kind Theodore the Good managed to secure piece months the kingdoms. things started to get better, people could once again walk in the fields without fears of being kidnap or worse killed by some monster. with the death of King Theodore, his son Nedam the fair took over the realm, however kind Nedam had a sudden illness that affects him. with this illness, uncertainty creeps into the citizen's minds. fear like a shadow lurks around the corner. The last few years have not been great. hunger hunts every citizen. the fields that they grow are weak and not very nutritious, the fishes of the sea are high with poisonous metals in their blood. eating too many fish can cause you an early grave. hunting in the woods, for those brave enough to do it, can come at a high price. monsters hide just behind the tree line.
