Thripia's currency, used in transactions citywide, is the sungold. Named for the sungold tree, the nectar of which is made into ichor which is in turn the substance backing the currency and the source of Thripia's trading success. The coin is made of gold and imprinted with a bee. The choice to emblazon a bee upon the city's currency comes from the importance of their role as the manufacturers of ichor. The icon is furthermore the sigil of the city itself, sometimes called the Sungold Bee. On the other side is a symbol representing the sun; a circular disc surrounded by layered, pointed rays. It's counterpart is the moonsilver, both of which are produced by the Great Gold Bank.
