The Ash and Arms

The air is thick with the warmth of human hospitality. Glynn smiles at you from across the bar. Your ears fill with the music. The really crappy music... Which is swiftly stopped after a stray tankard finds the head of the minstrel.   Welcome to the Ash and Arms.

Purpose / Function

A centre for the community and people in Eastwatch. A meeting place and crash-out for the adventurers that pass through the town.

Design

A great oak hall with a bar that wraps around a wall and a half of the first floor. A low ceiling

History

Build very recently, within the previous 10 years. Was built on the site of another tavern, Senlac's Wish, that housed the previous generation of adventurers that called Eastwatch home. It burnt down after they all disappeared, the owner dying in the fire as well. Few relics were left, but those that remained were passed to Glynn after he purchased the land on the promise that he would rebuilt a tavern, but in his own traditional style.   While before the tavern had been more of a wine-house, being more for upmarket carousing of those living in the nearby villas, with the adventurers that frequented it being out of place amongst the rich of the town.   The new tavern is quite in contrast. Rather than wine, it's ale and mead on the taps. Bed and board is available in ample supply and food is served to those that have an empty stomach. It caters more for the farmers and tradesmen as well as the nobles that are looking for more of a foreign twist on their nightly carousing, avoiding the rush and crowds of the evening. Adventurers are also obviously more than welcome in the establishment.

Maps

  • The area
Handed to you by Glynn, this map is said to be an attempt by a previous adventuring party to convert the scribbles on their table. They died or disappeared before they could complete the translation from the table to the parchment.   Glynn says he recovered this from the ruins of the old tavern. "No reason to keep it out ay?" As such he allows any adventurers to view the map, but keeps it to himself to allow everyone to see it and keep it safe, so he says.
